C1/C2 at full output w/ 7.1 analog connected

I had the analog outputs of my Denon DVD-5900 disconnected for a while when I was messing with other stuff. I just reconnected them and now anything from the DVD player plays at FULL volume (I suspect 0 db). The C1 volume control has NO EFFECT. If I disconnect the analog inputs to the C1, the problem goes away (but then I don't have any analog inputs for SACD etc).
I can't find anything in my setup that would cause that.
I tried selecting/deselecting "7.1" on the remote but it has no effect either.
What am I doing wrong? :M
    TIA

First thing to try is to unplug the C1 (or just turn it off with the power switch on the rear panel). Let it sit for a minute. That may help.

If not, the next thing to try is to restore to factory settings...

I had already tried the Power Reset many times. In fact, I always power down my entire system. Being a dedicated HT system, it's amount of use does not warrant keeping it powered.
Resetting to factory defaults is a great idea! I will try that.
I have changed it around enough to warrant starting over anyway. I should get to it this weekend. I'm just hoping it's not some hard failure

Ok, I am such a moron! ops: :banghead: ops:
I connected the Analog Output from my CD player to the Analog "Output" of my C1. When I reconnected the cables to the Analog "Input" , all returned to normal.:duh:

I should mention that I use all balanced connections so I never use the RCA analog outputs. That's why the "light" did not go on when I inadvertantly plugged into them. :takecover:

Me 'N Pioneer - Analog HD Inputs vs. Digital HD Signals
              by David Meek
You've probably seen one or more of my comments about my year-old Pioneer Elite Pro 610 HD-ready RPTV. Yeah, I know. What can I say - I love this set. The only drawback this unit has is that the high-def signal inputs accept only an analog signal. With the studios and manufacturers working hard to have...

Your Analog TV Will Stop Receiving in 6 months! (HOT topic!)
              by Chris D
This really needs to be highlighted here, since we are a steady A/V website for information:

On February 19th, 2009, ***ALL*** full-power TV stations in the USA will stop broadcasting analog signals. This means that unless you do something about it, every analog TV in your house will...

DTC-9.4: How do I restore factory settings?
              by Amy R
My dad was over and accidentally hit some button(s) on my husband's DTC-9.4, and now I don't know how to fix it.

I can't get a feed - the TiVo is working (I see the TiVo menus, and it is still recording shows), but the only thing on the TV is a black screen. I can watch shows previously...

              RSX-1056: 7.1 analog input for Blu-Ray
              by fvoelling
              Hi,

I've been running a 1056 with a 7.1 speaker setup for a couple of years now, and started watching Blu-Ray movies from a PS3 80GB model last year. The PS3 is connected to the 1056 with digital coax and component.

Since my current setup is limited to 5.1 and 6.1, both...

RSX 1055 two channel analog bass management
              by pjdami
Sorry if this is a repeat post (did a search to no avail) but I have a question about my 1055's bass management. I am using Transparent analog cable interconnects between my 1055 and RCD 961 cd player. I have Polk LSi 15s as mains and a Polk PSW 350 subwoofer.

When I use the analog outputs...
