    Speakers Selection

    Hi everybody

I am new to the audio world and just placed an order for a 2-CH system (Parasound A-21, a BAT 3ix tube pre amplifier and a REGA cd player). My desition was based only on recommendations and reviews. I lived in the Caribbean and we have only three small dealers, where you buy without audition the equipment. Same story with the speakers.

I will really apreciate any sugestions in order to select the right speakers for this set up.

The room size is 13 ft wide, 30 ft long and 8 ft high.

Musical preferences are launge, chill out, jazz, rock, pop and some latin.

Speakers (floorstanding) options based on availability in my area are:

    B&W (maybe 703)
FOCAL JM LABS (maybe CHORUS V 836)
    DYNAUDIO
    PARADIGM
    MONITOR AUDIO
    PSB
    ENERGY

    Again, thanks for your sugestions

    Best regards

    Sam

ps. please forgive mistakes in language. ops:

Hey, Sam, we've seen you around the Guide. Welcome to Club Parasound!

Hmmm... perhaps the Energy, Paradigm, or B&W. I'd probably go B&W.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

      Thanks Chris

      What series of B&W's?

I have a friend who owns and recomends a pair of 703's.

      Thanks :T

I've listened to some Monitor Audio GS60's with an A21 and P3 and came away very impressed! With the BAT and the Rega it should even get better. Your room is on the long side, 30 ft. Hopefully your listening position will be closer than that.

For specific B&W models, I'd recommend going to our B&W club here in the Guide. I'm not very familiar with their full line-up, but those guys know them to a "T".
