    DC trigger question

just found out there is a bunch of extended IR codes for my yamaha receiver and I found a code that let's me manually control the dc trigger. my yamaha uses a 1/8th adaptor and i know parasound uses a 1/16th adaptor.

Does it have to be a Mono cable, tried using a stereo 1/8th to 1/16th cable (senheisser headphone cable that has 1/16th on one end and 1/8th on the other) and the parasound will not turn on. so i am assuming i need to use a mono single pos/neg cable.

I do not want my Parasound A21 to always be on when i'm using the av receiver, mostly only want to trigger it on for Music and occasional loud listening movies.

A stereo 3.5mm to stereo 2.5mm adaptor should work. Did you set the switch on the back of the A21 to the correct position? Does the yamaha output 12V?

Yes, I think that should work. Haven't had any problems with triggers in my Halo setup.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

yeah I flipped the switch down to dc trigger mode and plugged in the cable to the dc trigger in on the A21, tried using both 12v trigger outs of my yamaha and used the discrete codes., the Yami's osd showed that dc trig 1 on and off and dc trig 2 on and off. i was thinking i need mono, but now i'm just not sure.

Rotel 1080 amp has 12v trigger, Yamaha RX-V1400 doesn't... Ideas?
          by azsyno
Want to utilize my Harmony 880 remote to turn on the Rotel Amp when turning on/off all functions. Problem is that my Yammy Rx-V1400 doesn't have the 12v trigger function. Can I purchase a device that will alleviate this issue? don't really want to add a Rotel (or other) reciever just to get this function......

How much current for 12V trigger?
          by tme
Hi, I want to connect a trigger from my Marantz receiver to a Rotel 1075. The receiver has a switched 120V AC outlet. I was going to buy a 12V DC power adaptor and connect a 3.5mm adaptor on the end. How much current does this adaptor need to provide to make the trigger work? 200ma? 500?

Question for those that use a 12v Trigger on a RB-1080...
          by azsyno
Hi Everyone... Yesterday I set up the remote 12 volt trigger functionality on my 1080. I used a AC Adapter from Radio Shack (thanks for the ideas on that!). Now I am left to wonder if I've set it up correctly. Here's the deal...

The Rotel manual says to leave the power switch "ON"...

          12v trigger
          by ajpoe
I have a 1075 and an Onkyo receiver. I was using a 12v AC/DC adaptor in the switched outlets of the receiver to activate the 12v trigger in the 1075. For some odd reason the power cable failed (it was just a cheapy). I went and got a couple new universal AC/DC adaptors at Parts Express but when I got...
