    P3 & A23

I will be picking up a P3 and an A23, I currently have a nice receiver with preamp outs, Possible to run the Preamp outs from receiver to the Input of the P3 and then to the A23? A23 will just be powering my Left, Right Fronts.

it is possible and will work, but preouts on most receivers are variable and you will have to adjust the volume on both the receiver and the p3. you wont get the best sound this way and might even sound better to run the preout of your receiver to the A23 directly assuming the preouts of your receiver are variable. the p3 is a great pre, but isn't ideal for a home theater setup.

Hi, mgripy, and welcome to the Guide and Club Parasound!

I think I understand what you're trying to do--use your receiver for home theater material, and run 2-channel specific media through the P3, right?

You've got the right idea. As loco said, the P3 is suited for 2-channel material, so yes, you can do things like that. Are the "preamp outs" the only such outputs from your receiver? You could also consider other outputs that may be fixed volume, such as "monitor".

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

Yes exactly, And it works fine, 2 channel for music, and home theatre/dts for multi channel.

Question about adding rotel to existing receiver
          by corysmith01
          Hi-

I'm fairly new to ht and have made a fair number of purchases lately. In doing research and becoming more familiar with the hobby, I've decided that I'd like to move to seperates. I can't afford to do it all at once, so I'd like to buy them one at a time. I currently have a Marantz...

A few suggestions, please, on a good receiver

Maybe I should ask this one in the A/V Chalet, but this is where I've lurked, and this is where I started the Dayton RS 3 way TMWW's that are under way, with CC to follow. I like this place, most here know that speakers are the important piece of the pie! I will probably get one or maybe two A500 Behinger...

          Hello,
First off I want to thank everyone for all the great posts and info I have gathered thru this forum. I have been using my 6 yr old yamaha receiver to drive my fairly new def tech 7004 speakers and have been researching my first amp for quite a while now (by the way, these speakers are...

Hello all and hoping Chris can help me on this one.

Can anyone tell me the disadvantage and advantage with Bi-amping my A23 with my Musical Fidelity M6i.

I would use the Parsound to run the High and the Musical Fidelity for the low end and the Musical fidelity would also...

New receivers, where have all the pre-outs gone for separate amplifiers?
          by Lex
I was just curious what was out there, and I started looking, and have found that the combo receiver that gives you amplification choices, seems to have been eliminated by audio manufacturers. How's that for sucking a$$??? :M

I know you can get a pre-pro of course, but let's face...
