    Parasound & Aragon

Hi Guy's hopefully someone can help me out, I have the C2 and Aragon ST,BB & X3 amps.
I'm using the RPC120 line conditioner, the amps are plugged into the line conditioner and then are triggered on by a Pre/Pro. I've been though 3 RPC120 I even sent it out to Kliscph to get check out and I was told that it was working fine.
for some reason I can't get the C2 to trigger on the amps, I am thinking of getting a Monster line conditioner, does anyine have any suggestions.

I use a Monster 3600 successfully to switch my amps. A side benifit is they delay a few seconds to let the pre-pro and other electronics to stabilize.

That's the first time I've heard that explanation for the benefits of the delay... :B

The common reason for delaying the power-up between amps is to minimize the rush current caused by toroidal transformers. If you power on a lot of toroidal based amps at the same time, the rush current will be so huge that it trips the main breaker in your panel...

I have the Monster HTPS 7000 SS but I don't use it for triggering. I leave my Amp on all the time without problems. If I ever try to turn my amp on from being turned off, it will trip the breaker every time.

My original statement is admittedly an oversimplification, however,I felt it was all the average reader here needed to know. Your explanation is more detailed but still an oversimplification. Letting the pre pro and other electronics stabilize seeks to avoid having the inrush of their transformers occur simultaneously with heavy power users such as amps and may avoid tripping a breaker or other protection device. Getting even more technical (those of you not technically inclined, or just plain bored at this point should move on now...lol), inrush current can vary greatly depending on the precise time and state of the input voltage sine wave that a transformer is connected, ie: is the incoming voltage positve, negative or zero at the precise time of connection? Depending on the aforementioned timing, the inrush current can either be the same as normal operation or can easily exceeed twice what it would be at steady state. Therefore the value of allowing other electronics to reach steady state (stabilize) at a different time (previously, in this case) should be obvious. It prevents all inrush currents from happening simultaneously, therefore increasing the chance of blowing a marginal circuit (breaker or fuse).

I stand by my previous post. The ONLY reason for the delay is to not blow the main fuse/breaker.

If you have other equipment (preamps, transports, etc.) that are sensitive and/or need to "stablize", then the only proper solutioin is to feed them with a separate AC line and/or through a separate filtering unit or power plant. A delay here and there won't make a difference...

Dissappointing, new vs old Aragon Amps
              by JonMarsh
This exchange, which I would have linked except that the way frames are used on their site hides URLs, says it all. From 105 lb. to 46 lb. (8008X5 to 2005, 5 ch. amp; both 200 w/ch)

Geez, folks. This makes me a little angry, when I think about it for very much. The new 2002, rated...

              Aragon amps?
              by Ricky
A friend of mine is looking into the older Aragon amps. I was hoping someone would know certain details such as:
              - rated power
              - watts in pure class A
              - power transformer size
              - output devices per channel
              - weight
              - original msrp
              - approx year introduced...

              Halo A21 v. Aragon 8008
              by jkscherk
              Hello All,

I currently have a C2 matched with an Aragon 8008ST drving my fronts, with another Acurus A200x5 driving everything else. I was thinking about switching out the 8008 for either an 8008BB (has the balanced inputs) or moving over to an A21.

              Has anyone done comparisons...

Argghhh! I own Klipsch Amps and didn't even buy them!
              by JonMarsh
For all I know, this is old news, but I just found out today- web sites have changed this week, blah blah blah, and now, Klipsch has bought Mondial Designs, makers of Acurus and Aragon amps, preamps, pre-pro's, etc. Most regulars on the forum will know that though I build a lot of my own electronics,...

Outlaw 950 vs Aragon Stage One (in the house!!)
              by Ricky
A friend of mine had a few days left before he had to return his 950 back to Outlaw (he bought the AT Clone and uses an Anthem Pre2L for his 2 channel listening). I thought why not? This is a good chance to try the Outlaw in my system for a couple days. I did a few comparisons the past 2 nights and...
