Argghhh! I own Klipsch Amps and didn't even buy them!

For all I know, this is old news, but I just found out today- web sites have changed this week, blah blah blah, and now, Klipsch has bought Mondial Designs, makers of Acurus and Aragon amps, preamps, pre-pro's, etc. Most regulars on the forum will know that though I build a lot of my own electronics, I'm something of a fan of Aragon. Turns out this was announced at CES this January, but there wasn't any word on Mondial's site, which I had visted just recently. Now going there re-directs one to Klipsch.

Well, I guess I gotta look at it this way- it's not as bad as if Bose bought them..... (shiver!)

Sheeessshhh! Isn't there anything you can count on in life?

    Venting in northern CA,

    Jon

"death and taxes" spring to mind Lets just hope that Acurus and Aragon's standards don't drop now that they have other fingers in the pot

I don't think it's necessarily a BAD thing. If Klipsch can leave them alone then they should be fine. It worked for the McIntosh/Clarion marrage. I don't know the financial situation of the Aragon/Acurus boys but sometimes a cash infusion can work wonders.

As I understand it, Mondial staff with the exception of Anthony Federici were transferred over to Klipsch.

I hope it works I'd like to go with 5 channels of 8008 amplification, but if the alternative was closing Mondial Designs, this is an excellent choice.

        Regards,

Hopefully all the good things about Aragon will remain, re sonics, build quality, products, but Klipsch will give them some additional marketing muscle and development support.

          Cross my fingers.

A good example of this is Harman International.

Owns Proceed, Lexicon, Harman Kardon, and lest we not forget all of Madrigal, including Levinson. It seems there's little but positive influence in this circle anyway. No, nothing is sacred. Kay sa ra sa ra.
