HCA 2003 vs HCA 1206 Biamping?

I currently have a HCA 2003 that I am using since some years already for the front 3 channels in my system. As I us this system for stereo listening as well, I though of going biamping as my speaker offer this approach. So I though of selling die HCA 2003 and buy a HCA 1206.
From experience some years ago I know that biamping is quite a step up (done this with Rotel 2x Rotel RB 980). However I do not know how both amps compare in soundquality side by side and adding another HCA 2003 is not an option do to lack of space.
    So, what is the verdict?

No reply on this?? I'm not the most critical listener mind you...I have a 1206 running my mains bi-amped (4 amps), then the remaining two amps run my surrounds. Then I have a 1000(bridged) to run my center. I can say for sure that I noticed some better sonic characteristics when run in stereo, but not sure on the theater portion. I can only asume it's quality improved since I noticed it in stereo mode.

Not sure this really answers anything for you....just thought I would share my observations.

Biamping is a great idea, but in order for it to be effective you need to remove the passive crossover in the speaker and use an active crossover such as the DEQX, Bryston 10B, or Marchand Electric.

See this article for a good description of bi-amping

Well, I am just about to buy my second HCA-1500a. I have about $1k set aside for one of my room's amps, and I can't see going to the Halo A23, as it would be a step down. Perhaps to some, not visualy, but sonically, I can't imagine the A23 besting the 1500a, especially with Martin Logan Aerius i's....

            Parasound HCA-750A or HCA-1000A vs Halo A23?
            by sikoniko
            Currently I have a cinenova grande 5 amp (300x5) and a Sherwood/Newcastle P-965 pre/pro. I was able to get a great deal on a b&w htm2, which I plan to use in rear setting for 6.1.

My dilemma is that I do not have the power for that back speaker. The speaker is rated at 120w. In evaluating...

            Hello Everyone,

Wondering if anyone can comment on any of the matches in the title. My main speakers are B&W 805's matched with a Velodyne SPL-R 800. I've powered my B&Ws with a 2-channel HCA-1500 amp (200 watts) before, and was happy with that match. Then I moved to an HCA-1205A...

            Hello to all,

Just found this forum and glad I fell into it! ;-)

I had a HCA855a and wanted to get a bit more power, so bought a HCA1206 from someone on audiogon. The item was packaged really well from the previous owner, however, it came with no original box, different...
