    Parasound / NHT ?

    Hi, just joined,
What have some of your experiences in mating parasound amps with NHT 2.9 / 1.5 speakers. 50/50 HT-Music.....Is it too "bright" My previous source was a Yam DSP-A1 and at times it was a bit crisp.

My plan is to get a 125 x 7 and use 4 of them to Bi-amp the 2.9's

    Thanks for your time ;x(

Hi, Timbo, and welcome to the Guide and Club Parasound! I'm not sure if anyone has experienced this particular equipment with Parasound.

The only thing I can offer is that I use a Klipsch legend speaker setup, and some have also commented that they are "crisp" with my previous Yamaha amp. I enjoy mating them with my Halo amps now.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

NHT & Parasound make me happy

I use a pair of NHT 3.3s for the fronts, AudioCenter 2 for center, and three pairs of NHT 1.5s for the rears and 2 pairs sides in a 9.1 setup in a 20 x 30 room. I use two Parasound 2205 5-channel amps to drive all these speakers in conjunction with a Halo C2 controller.

The SEAS metal dome tweeter made in Norway used in many NHT products can be a slightly bright. I believe that the tube amp like warmth of the Parasound amps takes just enough edge off of these speakers. The sound remains a bit forward, but not too much so that they sound fatiguing.

I read a whole lot of opinions and reviews before buying amps and narrowed my choice down to Bryston or Parasound 2205. I based my decision mostly on VALUE. You can find the beastly Parasound 2205 5-channel 220 watt amps for about $1,500 frequently on ebay or Audiogon. I don't know of any other amp that offers as much quality power for so little cost.

          Parasound amp with NHT speakers
          by bhorrell
I was wondering if anybody has used a parasound amp with NHT speakers.

I was looking at buying a Parasound HCA-855A (85 watts/channel), to power my VT-1.4s and VS-1.4s. I will be using my current Yamaha receiver as a Preamp.

Does anybody have any comments about this setup....

RSX 1056 biamp config with NHT 2.5i question
          by youngjun91
Hi, new 1056 owner here. Got a question for you all. My 86db speakers are not real easy to drive, although so far in my room, they sound very good with the 1056. I was thinking of buying a couple of subwoofer amps specifically made to drive the subwoofer section of my NHT 2.5's, namely the NHT SA-2...

Added two more Parasound amps....now I have 5 "monoblocks"
          by Ricky
          I just picked up a Parasound 806 80x6 (bridgeable to 240) and a 1201A 150x1 monoblock.

          Amp Configuration BEFORE:
Two Parasound 2200II dual-mono 250x2 amps drive NHT mains, center, and one sub. A plate amp rated at 100wpc drives the other sub. A Fosgate 4100 60x4 drives my sides...

          C1 Dies
          by Craig Simon
After months of reading your informative posts I find myself in need of some advice.

After shipping my Halo C1 (in it's original carton) from California to the east coast, I plugged in the C1 and it immediately started turning off and on with a noise that sounded like a relay switching....

          NHT speakers with Rotel?
          by Hap C
Anyone using their Rotel 1066/1075 combo, or other Rotel amp or receiver, to power NHT speakers? Currently have NHT VT2.4 fronts, VS2.4 center, and VT 1.2 rears, plus the NHT SubOne. My local Rotel dealer does not carry NHT and does not do at home demos. Would hate to buy Rotel (thinking of the 1066/1075)...
