Anyone running two subs with their C1/C2?

I was wondering if anyone was using two subs with their home theater setup?

    My questions are,

    1. Does the size of the sub matter if you are going to use it for rear?

    2. Does the Parasound C1/C2 let you separate these signals?

    3. Does it make a difference?

    Thanks

FWIW: Currently I only have one sub (Martin Logan Descent), but I have planned to get another one later this fall. When I do, I'm not going to use the sub output of the C2 at all. Instead, I'm going to run the main speakers as LARGE and use a DEQX to drive the main speakers and both subs...

Yes, I have two PC-Ultra subs from SVS. (www.svsubwoofers.com) They ROCK. There's a couple ways that you can set up dual subs with a C1/C2. I chose to use the main sub output and the programmable output that duplicates the main sub, so the two subs output the identical signal. LOTS of punch and power. Alternatively, you could use the balanced sub output for one of the subs instead. (or use it to hook up THREE subs!)

The other way is to use the two fully programmable channels to make a left and right sub, or front and back subs, splitting the signal to each of the subs so they do different work. I know one person here in the Club has tried this. Personally, I see no benefit in this way, since bass frequencies are non-directional, it's more complicated, and you lose the use of both programmable channels.

With two subs used properly, you can cancel out peaks and dead spots in your room, and add much more bass power. However, you have to be careful that you don't create more nulls and peaks than before.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

        Does size matter...

I've set up rear subs with the C1 and it worked out very well.

Generally, I would stick with the same brand of subs throughout the system...unless you were trying to correct a deficiency.
