which listening mode for Satellite optic cable reception

What do you think is the best listening mode for optical reception from the satellite. Ie movies, shows, music on Satellite reception.

I've been using DPII, but am not sure if something else might be better ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The Satellites are Sky and Canal+ (European) but they offer optical cable connection which I have been using.

    Thanks

DPLIIx movie is what I prefer for typical satellite. DPLIIx improves quite a bit over DPLII and is best realized on things like satellite. It makes a big difference.

Although, I own the RSP-1098, I prefer DoProIIx Music for my satellite listening pleasure (after tweaking, to ensure both music and cinema work well).

Thanks for your input. I found the same. Either DPLII music or cinema. Just wanted to check if anyone out there felt the same

        thanks

Unless you're watching a sporting event, in which case "Party Mode" might sound best.

I'm very happy with DPLIIx, and just leave it on for all sources. Movie mode for all video sources (including satellite) and Music mode for all audio-only.

DirecTV, we should have a choice of ownership
              by Lex
It came to my attention last year, that if you wished to receive the new local high definition channels through DirecTV, that you must now LEASE a new HDDVR, instead of buying as we could previously through vendors such as TiVo brand products.

Myself, TiVo had become as much a part of...

              Satellite Radio (XM and Sirius)
              by Chris D
I'm curious who has experienced satellite radio, and what comments you could make. Obvious attractions for using it would be national radio reception, diverse programming, and perhaps portable capability.

But how does it SOUND, man, how does it SOUND? From what I understand, the audio...

Chroma Bug on Hughes E86 satellite receiver?
              by Chris D
I bought a Hughes E86 HDTV Satellite Receiver from Good Guys a few weeks ago. They're having a sale on them for $399, brought down even further to $299 if you buy any HDTV.

So far the set has been great. Others have reported local channel reception being dropped by these units, but I...

Problems with MXEditor Live Update after DPLIIx software update
              by Chris D
Weird. I downloaded the DPLIIx update to two different computers I own, including the new MXEditor software version. Got through the update okay, following the instructions for both Halo Control and MXEditor. So far so good. I ran the MXEditor program Live Update, which downloaded a rather large...
