just got the new Classic line 2125 125w amp from Parasound. I was wondering how to setup the auto on? There is a sensitivity knob and right now its in the middle. I noticed that during the movie "Bronx Tale" the amp cut off during a quiet scene. Great amp, using it to power my main Paradigm Monitor 7's. Connects are Straightwire Level 2.. thanks a newbie

Well, I would say the right answer is the ubiquitous "it depends" for where to set it. Fo you, you're describing that the sensitivity is set too low, and it cut out. I'd turn it up about halfway from where it is now to max and see how that works for you. If it turns off during movies, turn it up. If it turns on when your system is off, turn it down.

Hey taxman, how do you like the Classic Line 2125? I was at first looking into the Halo, but hear they heat up a lot (not good for me cause I have a baby), and then I heard the new Classic Line runs relatively cool. What kind of speakers are you using with the Parasound?B&W 804S/Velodyne SPL-1000R/Anthem MRX720- Bottom

Hey, audiocheese, just to give you some input to the heat issue--I really don't think you need to worry about it. First, the Halos really don't put out enough heat to be dangerous to either adults or even newborns. But regardless of the equipment, you really need to monitor any child around electronics, especially expensive hi-fi equipment. I would never let my 17 mo old get anywhere close to my theater equipment rack.
If it's just a general temperature increase you're concerned about in a room, you also don't need to worry about that. Matter of fact, that's not something I would worry about with any equipment except the most extreme of heat-generators.

Speakers w/2125 amp
Audioqueso: I like the new amp, not too much heat at all coming out. Pushing Paradigm Monitor 7's, what a difference with the amp.. Glad they came out with this line. I wasa about to get the A23 , wasn't too happy with the silver line. I placed the amp on one of the glass shelves under my tv. Plugged it into a dedicated 15a outlet so it has plenty of juice. taxman48,
I tried using the "Auto On" with my Halo A51 but found it to be quite unreliable. I had the same problem you are experiencing and it didn't seem to matter what position the sensitivity knob was in. It also wouldn't consistently and reliably power my system on unless I cranked the volume up.
I'm sure there are many variables that come into play such as the pre-pro being used but I think you will be much happier using the 12V trigger wire option to consistently and reliably turn your equipment on/off. Plus it won't turn off during silent passages in movies or music.
That's what I did and it works great.Mitch

Personally, I've got both my A21 and A51 set to turn on automatically when I turn on my C1. Works perfect, every time, nice, easy, I like it.

Never got the auto-on to work with my A51 and Denon 4802. Maybe it only works with a C1/C2. *shrug*

My A51 worked with my Denon 3805 but it was hit and miss. Sometimes it would work and other times it wouldn't. I had to turn up the volume to insane levels in order for it to detect the signal when it was having it's "I don't detect a signal" fits.Originally posted by mikepinkertonNever got the auto-on to work with my A51 and Denon 4802. Bottom line is that the 12 Volt trigger is the ONLY way to go.Mitch

by Orange PeelHow are you guys setting up the 1095 to auto on with your pre-pro? I will be using my Pioneer Elite VSX-53TX as a pre-pro and would like the 1095 to turn on when I turn on the Elite.
I have a HK PA-5800 amp to power my bedroom speakers, and I have to go push the damn button in to turn...-

by Dave0604I've just set up my new Halo amps, A51 and A21. I am using the A21 for the front left and right, and the A51 to round out my seven channels. I'd like to use the auto turn on via audio signal feature, but I'm finding that even with the sensitivity on the amps adjusted to highest sensitivity, they still...-

by OvationPulled this off the shelf last night. I have a sizeable Hitchcock collection (my favourite director) and this was among the few I'd not seen yet. A great example of 30s style filmmaking (a 1940 release, but it fits the 30s quite well).
You can see a number of Hitchcock flairs and touches...-
