    Suggestions of XLR cables

Yes, I know that this question will open up a major can of worms - I'm really not trying to start any flaming, but...

I've been lurking around HTGuide for quite some time now, along with the "other" sites HTSpot/ and AVSForum, quietly gaining information and picking up gear slowly on the used market.
It all started thanks to SpOoNmAn's selling me his Halo 2 to go along with the B&W 801 and HTM center that I had from a previous pseudo-HT. Recently I picked up a Krell 250a/3 for those speakers and a Krell 250a for my rear surrounds (currently a REALLY old pair of Epicures).
Now that I have the amps and processor I need to hook them together - duh.
    Survey: What are people using?
    Suggestions for "reasonable" co$t XLR?
Will there be a problem if some gear (ie: front 3) are XLR, and the rear, sides, sub, tactiles are RCA?

Thanks in advance (and I'm finally out of the shadows - NO MORE LURKING!)

    I use Kimber Hero XLR's.

But I'd suggest simply running to your local Guitar Center and get some inexpensive XLR's to try out. They will work fine and will help to establish a base line if you wish to then experiment with more expensive cables.

You can mix and match between RCA and XLR. Running through the speaker calibration after hooking everything up will ensure that your levels are the same.

I use PS Audio XLR's, but some pretty well-built and reasonably-priced ones are Canare Cable, which, I believe is widely used in the professional recording industry.

Sorry to end the fun before it really gets out of hand, but per HTGuide policies open-ended discussion of cable brands is not allowed here.

Talking about the merits of XLR vs. RCA is fine, but when brands (specifically online brands) start flying, it can lead to flame fests, not to mention the fact that this site is largely funded by a cable manufacturer.

          XLR vs. RCA
          by Adz
All things being equal and assuming no difference in length, is there a sonic benefit from using the XLR connections (say on the front three channels) verus the RCA? I always thought not, but then I can't reconcile the fact that I read that Balanced XLRs have lower noise than the RCA because balanced...

          Hi guys,
Sorry to keep bothering u guys with my querries. My set up is a Cyrus CD 8X, Bryston BP 6/ 3 BSST pre/power and B&W 805s.
The preamp only has RCA outputs though the power amp accepts both RCA and male XLR s.

          Suggestions for DIY center channel?
          by dorsai78664
I have been lurking here and in the AVS Forum DIY section for a while and I decided on a center channel as my first foray into DIY speaker building. I currently use a Cerwin Vega E-D6C center channel and although I am happy with it, I'd jump at the chance to improve on it. The CV is a MTM speaker...

XLR Interconnect - Mic or AES/EBU?
          by wildfire99
I recently picked up a set (used) of A21 and A51 amps. They sound great!

I want to move away from RCA interconnects and use XLR's. However, I'm not understanding the difference between AES/EBU patch cables and mic cables. I use XLR's at work a lot, and I generally grab whatever has the...

Digital or Analog XLR pass thru CD player on C1/C2 2 channel
          by misterdoggy
I curretly have a rcd 1072 cd player that plays both cd and hdcd.

I am trying otunderstand why "top" quality CD players have the optional unbalanced analog outputs. When you look at top stuff $3000 and up they all offer balanced outputs. The C1 also has the possibility of accepting...
