Sound Question

I'm thinking of getting rid of 17 year old Adcom amp and Preamp and replacing
with Parasound A 21 Amp & P-3 Preamp. This equipment is driving some old Carver Amazing Silver Ribbon speakers. What might I expect sound wise if I switch?
Might anyone offer an thought on Halo vs Anthem Statement. I haven't
kept up on all the new stuff so Anthem is an unknown to me.

I think what you can expect between the Halos and the Adcom is an increase in dynamics ten-fold, a greater depth in punch, slam, tautness, control, headroom, and a much wider soundstage. I'd also venture to say the spaciousness of the sound, aka the three-dimensionality, would emerge from a quieter, darker black. Not to mention a magnificent added sense of transparency to your speakers. I'd think "effortless" would come to mind moreso than Adcom ever could make you think (if ever at all).

With this many favorable reviews, you can't go wrong...

As for the Statement, I've never had the pleasure of auditioning it, so I leave that to someone else. They sure look nice, with their smooth black faceplates and all...
