I would recommend using spikes. Your neighbours will sure apreciate it but also the sound will be tighter and more precise. I use sand filled stands on my 805's to add more weight. It is also important to make sure that the speakers are placed on a even surface to equal the weight on all four spikes.

I use Soundcare Superspikes under my 804's, which are a spike with an integrated disc under it in 1 housing, much handier than a separate disc and spike.
Makes it much easier to move the speakers around, and I think they look pretty nice as well.

        Speaker Spikes and Wood Floors

Currently building Zaph's SR71 and matching stands. First primer coat on drying on sands as I type. Having difficulty deciding how to spike the stands.

With my sub, PE's 10" Titanic, I quickly learned pointy spikes + wood floors = disaster and the separate floor plates are a joke...

To Spike Or Not To Spike ?
        by George Bellefontaine
My Prattquake sub was shipped to me with the spike isolators attached. I had never used spikes before so went ahead and set up the sub as is. However, after playing LOTR Return Of The King, I could hear the sub rattling during the extreme low end scenes, of which there are plenty in this film. I also...

I have B&W Nautilus 802's and an ASW4000 Sub and am looking for floor spike solutions for them both. B&W no longer supplies feet or spikes for these and could not even tell me how tell the feet are supposed to be for the sub.

The 802 has metal plates with a roller wheel on the...

to spike 803S or not to spike 803S
        by ninja12
I have my HTS set up in my basement. The is cement with carpet on top of the cement. I was wondering if I should spike my 803S. I'm concerned about the spikes making contact, through the carpet, to the cement floor can causing a negative impact to the sound. Is it ok to spike them or should I just...

How put spikes on hevy speakers (N802)?
        by tmt
        Hello,

We are going to change the floor from carpet to a wooden floor. My N802's (the non-diamond ones) have always been on the casters, but with the change to wood I want to avoid damange and put the speakers on spikes with protective underside (like those superspikes from soundcare:...
