    Tempted.... Again

Hmmm, have just seen a cheap pair of matrix 802's for sale. Do you guys think it will be overkill to use them as back speakers for my 7.1???

Man oh man, its gonna be a tough sale to the wife - nomatter how cheap they are..

    Aarsoe,

Unless they won't fit in your room it is not overkill... You just need to be able to squeeze in to that perfect listenning position

Mind you overkill is a term that I struggle to understand...

PS - Those Matrix 802s are likely to need better amps or (at the very least) bi-wiring) your rears.... Maybe some room treatment... Some specialist HT seating (the old couch will block the full range sound...). The possibilities are endless...

Well, if I did it, I would be using my 1095 to drive them.
I dont know.. Its more of a crazy idea - you know 801 up front, 802 rear and then another pair of 802 for back speakers!!
Unfortunatly I have learned that they are in black and all my other speakers are walnut - so guess I will be passing this time. But if I see a walnut pair I know I will be jumping to get them...
