    HTM2 Diamond pricing question?

    I'm thinking about selling my HTM2 Diamond center channel and was wondering what the market will sustain right now.

    Home theater has fallen off the cliff for me and I haven't used the speaker in about two years.

    I've checked all of the usual places (eBay, audiogon, US Audiomart...) for previous sales/pricing but to no avail. I bought it about six years ago and it's in excellent shape. If I use EBay I was thinking of starting the auction at $2250 (or there's-about) and see what happens?

    Sound good or an I smokin' crack?
    The second place winner is the first place loser.

    So it's a HTM2D then not a Diamond (as it is 6 years old)? That's worth noting with your valuation....

      I'm sure it's Diamond. What would the "D" stand for otherwise?

      Here is the box;

      Here's the cut page from the book I received with the speaker;

      Am I missing something?????

        Yes, the old ones like yours are called HTM2D, which does stand for Diamond, but it is not the same thing as the HTM2 Diamond which is the newer model. The D range was replaced by the Diamond range in 2010, and the changes were more than just cosmetic. It is a common mistake people make, presuming D and Diamond models are the same thing!

          Yes he's correct this is the first generation diamond tweeter.

          The newer (current) diamond tweeters are a different design and are often called the D2 or Diamond tweeters.

          So this is the HTM2D and not the HTM2 Diamond (or HTM2D2).

            The bass drivers are better too IIRC, it's only the FST that went unchanged. Crossover improvements and the cosmetic changes to the cabinets.

              Thanks guys :T; I got it now.

              I've been out of the loop for a while with home theater and did not realize B&W updated my HTM2D. If/when I sell this speaker I would not want to unintentionally deceive a potential buyer.....

                  Don't forget eBay will take a huge fee from your sale. If you can, try and sale on this forum first. Paypal and eBay fees can add up to 13%+ -- its been a while since I sold something on there.
