    B&W Damaged ?

    Hi,

Last weekend i wanted to put my preamp Spectral on a new shelf, but unfortunately i connected the amp to the Tape Out and not the Main Out
of the preamp . So when i played music, i got the whole power of the amp and it was suddenly so loud, that i was wondering if the Tweeter or the Kevlar cone of my Signature Diamond could have been damaged. The whole power was only for a few seconds before i switched off the system. Now when i am playing music, i have the impression, that the bass is not so powerful as before and that even the tweeter sounds more harsh .
    Thanks for sharing your comments.

Ouch! Sorry to hear of your bad luck. You've possibly fried the crossover - which is probably cheaper than frying a driver. First, swap left and right speaker connections on the Amp to see if the fault moves. If it doesn't, and you're comfortable opening it up, I'd have a look and see if there's any evidence of overheating/burning on the crossover. If the fault does move, the fault may lie with the amp.

      B&W with Pass , Spectral ?
      by Gasoil
      Hi,

I want to buy a new amp for my B&W Signature Diamond, and i've tried recently Pass ( XP10 X 250.5) and Spectral ( DMC 15 SS DMA 200).
I've tried the french amp Devialet , but it's not the best amp for these speakers.

Has anyone tried these amps on B&W...

      B&W damaged tweeters - What's the cause?
      by sharkman777
I have a setup of 602s - front towers, back bookshelves, center channel and sub. Both the front tower 602s have damaged tweeters (image enclosed). Is there any way these tweeters were damaged simply by normal usage (i.e. they were blown) or would this have to have been physical damage (i.e. someone...

Any recommendations for a digital volt/multi meter?
      by JonW
Before putting together my first crossover, I should probably have a digital volt meter/digital multi meter around. To test things ahead of time and not risk frying my amp. I'm a total novice when it comes to electronics. And I can't imagine I'll use the meter for anything other than crossover testing....

How can you be sure tweeters or any speaker is damaged?
      by chinets
      Hi, Y'all,
Yesterday while doing some DB metering using the TEST ZONE I forgot to turn the CD off as I was thrilled about fiddling with some funky set up!!! Anyway, I had the volume in the Test Zone set at 80 db and made all my fancy settings and hit menu ....and guess what the sound came back...

      by jjahshik32
Ok this guy I know is selling me a rotel rmb-1095 that's cosmetically damaged, just bent a little on the side and a lil dent on the top but other than the casing being damaged the power amp works fine with no problems. And he's selling it for 750, you guys think its a great deal??
