BW 703's with an Anthem MX 700

Has anybody tried this combo in a large room? My beloved 1067 is dying and I'd like to replace.

Thinking about the following:

Anthem MX 700
Pioneer Elite SC-68
Denon AVR 4520 CI

This is going into a 7.1 system, with all matching speakers. Thanks for the comments and input.

The MRX-700 would be a great replacement for the 1067. Had a Rotel RSX-1056 then a Elite SC-25 (step back sound quality wise but tons of useless "features") then switched to the 700. ARC is amazing. It may be light on "features" but the support via firmware upgrades is great. It's almost 2 years old and is still right in the mix. If you don't need more than 4 HDMI inputs you can't go wrong. I like Rotel but Anthem has run them over. Have you looked at the Integra DTR 70.4? Anthem still sounds better IMO.

give nad a look also they have a really sweat sound and you can switch out the hdmi boards with future upgrades so your gear wont become obsolete.
i demoed the anthem processor and i liked it a lot but went with nad.to my ears it sounded better and the upgrade option is a no brainer to me.the nad units wont have all the bells and whistles as others they focus on sound quality.

Not getting into a debate whether the NAD or the Anthem sounds better (ARC rules) but there is an awful lot of B-stock NAD available on the 'net. Their quality is pretty bad. Unlike most companies B stock (show demos or UPS damaged boxes with perfect product inside) NAD has been terrible over the years as far as reliability goes. Future proof electronics, yeah right, just ask Mitsubishi owners that bought future proof TV's back in the day. Anthem used to be able to update their processors but with HDMI and what ever else is coming (HDMI 2.0) most companies won't touch that term with a 10' pole. There are too many variables in todays electronics. To think a small manufacturer like NAD/Rotel/Anthem can truly future proof a product is a joke. Not a shot at you stevek, just my opinion. I'm a jaded yankee! Whatever one buys enjoy it.

Thanks, I'm really going to study hard on this one. I really only need 7.1 but with all those extra channels available and 4k pass thru etc. I'm leaning towards the "newest" models. (Sort of insurance, yeah right I know lol) but sound quality is most important to me. Not all the other techno crap. I guess it's why I kept my Rotel 1067 so long. It's old school class AB sound, sounds great to me.

Integra DTR70.4 is a excellent choice.
NAD T787 is a better sounding choice IMO but has way less features. It's fully upgradable with a card based chassis.
Pioneer Elite SC-68 IMO is one of the very best sounding AVR's on the market. It's powerful , clean , quite between notes and feature packed. Excellent choice especially with B&W 7 series speakers. It's a good sonic match.
Rotel RSX1652 , have you considered checking one out? I have not heard one go yet so I can't comment on it's performance. It looks to be a worthy contender.

Thats my short list of AVR's , I'd go with the NAD.

im just giving a suggestion to blk to take a look.
i did have a problem with my processor,a hum that crossed over to every format i was using,"7.1 analog and hdmi" yes that sucked but nad sent out a replacement board"anolog"i had it repaired and good as new in 24 hrs in house by the nad dealer.it was made easier due to nads moduler card based design "3 screws and swap.
and "yes" you can upgrade with future formats.
its always better to try and buy electronics from a local dealer over the internet when it comes to warranty service.my processor came out of the rack for 5 minutes and i had to deal with the hum for 1 night.
i had a bad hdmi board on a denon 3312 and it was gone for a month and came back"not fixed"

Just an update...I went with the Elite SC-68 running 7.1 with the two fronts bi-amped. So far very impressed with the soundstage and the bi-amp is really bringing out crisp tight bass from the 703s. I had a little trouble setting up the internet on the unit, but now that it's sorted and I use both the Ipad and Android apps i'm very happy.

I've read elsewhere that the Sc-68 is a little bright and fatiguing. Curious on your thoughts as I have 703s which will I'm saving for home theater duty and have been looking at this Pioneer vs. the Denon 4520ci.

No review yet? I guess I'll be beating you to the punch if you don't in the next few days. I picked up a SC-68 myself and I got it wired up and programmed into my Universal remote.
It's not calibrated yet nor did I dial it in as I like it. But I plan on doing so this weekend. I also plan on a full review with a compare to my last receiver the SC-07.
