    ASW800 sub

The right channel on my ASW800 sub amp has a problem since a nearby lightening strike last week (it was hooked up to a Rotel RLC-1040, similar to an APC H15). The right channel has a crackling noise associated with it, the left is still good. I had it connected to the 2nd set of outputs on my preamp. Would I cause any harm by using a Y-cable at the preamp end (merging R&L together) and running to the left channel only of the sub amp? I do not want to cause any harm to my current equipment so please be forthcoming in all of your suggestions. Thank you.

Actually....that should work. I believe I did that once because my amp had only one sub out and I had two subs. Try it......I'll probably work!!.

Seems to be working just fine this way - no issues so far.
