What is this? I was in a Hi Fi shop and heard some weird sounds. They said they were demagging there speakers. Didn't really give much of an explanation as to what it was though. Thanks!

Wow. That sounds like a good one. I'll have to set up a button to play some weird sounds and randomly select speakers for the next time a moler comes into the store.
Sorry, no demos right now, we're demagging the speakers.

Ya. Lol. It's a 3 min track. Here is what there web site says
Some years ago we discovered that a strong signal from a signal generator sent through*the signal path of an amplifier had a positive effect on the sound. A year later, having*experimented with complex signals, we found an algorithm of signals that gave a stunning*improvement in soundstage, transparency, details, musicality and dynamics for audio*systems.
The reason behind this is that the small magnets in the signal-path become, with time,*orientated in one direction. This produces a detrimental effect on the signal. The DeMagic*signal actually relocates the magnets, and thereby breaks the magnetic field and its negative effect on the sound.*
In 1997 the University of Seoul, Korea, carried out scientific tests that definitely proved the*theory behind the DeMagic signal. Today the DeMagic has been sold in more than 100,000*copies worldwide and has become a must for any serious audiophile and music lover.*
It is okay to be sceptical, but once you have tried it you will not believe the effect.*The DeMagic is relatively inexpensive as well.

Okay....
I'm trying to figure this out..... 2 minutes and 59 seconds of this quick (and decently high pitched) pulsing sound and well.... I don't know what to say.
My 802Ds sound different. Better... yeah I guess I would say that... just over all there's differences!
My sound stage has moved back further than I've ever heard. That's very noticeable. The second thing I notice is there is definitely a "realism" to things that I've not heard come out of my speakers. The speed of the speakers is DEFINITELY increased. It almost sounds like things are at 1.2x or 1.3x speed. The transients are unbelievably quick. I think this thing definitely "loosens" the drivers up and makes them able to be very easily moved (almost like greasing up a wheel). Fourth thing I've noticed is the sound stage is at points much more pinpoint accurate and at others seems to not be as much. It could be due to the fact the sound stage has moved deeper than what I'm used to....but who knows...
One thing I'm not sure I care for is there is not as much "sparkle" and top end detail is not quite there anymore. Well it's there...but not as noticeable... it's slightly less, but I'm not sure if that's more due to things sounding more realistic and things were slightly over the top or what... This is the about the only thing I can say I'm not quite as thrilled about. Because I did like that extreme sparkle...but honestly... in a couple days I'll probably not miss it one bit.
The other thing is I have to seem to strain to seperate instruments at points... it's almost like things that really stood out before are more natural into the soundstage and don't come out at you. It's just a difference I'd have to say.
Like I said... I think it's almost more that I now have to get used to my speakers again...however half of that could be that this process again, has broken my speakers in (only had about 70hrs on them)...so who knows!!!
Either way if anyone wants to test it out, I can let them know where I got it (PM me)... It's not the gold edition so it's only a single track, but it's interesting...Digital Audio makes me Happy.

Yikes! :E
I once tried a smooth jazz CD that screwed with my speakers.
They never did recover.
Ended up having to throw them away.
Just kidding, guys. :W
Doesn’t Cardas have some kind of ‘break-in’ CD?
Never tried any of that stuff.
Just throw on a Telarc HQ 1812 Overture and set the loud knob at 8.5
That will tell you where the $ went.- Bottom

So a company like Ayre says they can not deny it has an effect, but do not have an answer as to why?
Hmmmm.....
With an open mind, I guess the world has much to offer. :W- Bottom

To emphatically deny the existence of pink elephants based solely on the premise that one has not been detected is not consistent with the objective scientific method. It proves only that one has not yet been found.
Likewise, just because an event cannot be measured is no proof that it did not occur. Quantum physics, a cornerstone in the foundation of our understanding of the universe, is based on phenomena that can only be predicted, not directly measured.- Bottom

I think this is an important thing that even scientists sometimes forget. A friend of mine, who is doing his postdoc in material physics, refuse to believe that cables can have any impact on the sound since his theories tells him they can't. In my opinion, not all, but some cables do make a difference, and a large one. Why don't he come and listen for himself? If there is no difference, he would be right. If there are, he would have a whole new field of science to work on.Originally posted by wkhannaTo emphatically deny the existence of pink elephants based solely on the premise that one has not been detected is not consistent with the objective scientific method. And if we can't measure it, then perhaps our measurements are not good enough? If you can hear it, it must be measureable somehow.

by rodHOK, I am in a weird situation where I bought some speakers off of fleabay for a good price.
