    Cm series for theater

    Gotta question,
What is everyone using for surround and surround back speakers for this line?

I'm puzzled why B&W wouldn't offer a wall mounted surround speaker for this line like they do for the 600 series.

I found In wall and In ceiling speakers that might work well but I was wondering if they are an exact match?

Personally I'm loving the CM9's and considering using them to replace my Definitive Technology Mythos ST mains and getting 2 subs. I use a Mythos 10 for center duty as well as surrounds. Perfect match all around.

So no one uses the CM series for theater use? If so is everyone just using bookshelf speakers on stands? The Cm1?
I'm no fan of having surround speakers on stands , I like them where they are supposed to go which is 72 inches to the tweeter or 2 to 3 feet above hear height.( I found 72 inches to work in all rooms best).
Years ago the CDMNT series had N series looking wall mounted surround speakers which worked excellent . I'm wondering how they would match up ? I forget the model number.

I only have the fronts so far as I'm waiting to get out of my condo before I buy. But I plan to use CM5s for the surrounds when I purchase. When I've listened in the store, they have more bass than CM1. Always a plus in my eyes. But I also wanted the CM5s in case I ever repurpose them elsewhere in the house.

I'd prefer to wall mount. But it will depend on the room once I get moved. I don't know of any special made brackets for the CM series. But I have seen some pretty creative mounting techniques over on the AVS Forum--everything from cut down TV wall mounts to customized mounts.

I have the CM9 and CMC2 currently and I have the CM5 on order. Going to be putting them on my 1200mm high stands so they will be quite high up. Listened to them in the shop and they are a closer match to the CM9. You could use them as fronts if you had a good sub. CM1 really lacked the bass response and had a really lower sensitivity.

Right now I am using my old 601 S3 and 603 S2 for surrounds. They sound ok but not quite an exact match. Planning on swapping out the 603 for the CM5 when they arrived.

I think what you are looking for is the VM6 from B&W. Compare the specs to the CM-1 from B&W. From my understanding it is the same tweeter/woofer/crossover but different cabinet that can be wall mounted....

That might actually be the right answer to using the CM series as a theater system. I'm so in. I gotta go check out the VM6's and hear how they sound.

            Thank you

I had been using CM8 and CMC for home theater for last 6 months. I love them very much.

                    What's up people?
If you take a look at the CM line for theater , you will notice they don't offer a perfectly matched on wall surround option. Having just bookshelf speakers for surrounds is not a good choice for many many many rooms including mine. I'm looking for an on wall option.

My next project is going to be some(big) in-wall surround speakers. My plan build box speakers as normal and then have niches built into the wall that the speakers can sit in. That way if I ever move, the speakers can be pulled out and someone else can have niches to put nick-nacks on or speaker. ...

I know the topic of smaller monitors was discussed before, but usually for a different purpose. Also no solutions that I know were proposed. Chris's RS150 mt I think was actually relatively large.
