I own the C5's. They have a laid back sound stage as compared to Sennheiser/Klipsch/Dr Dre Beats, and instruments/vocals have better clarity and separation while having accurate bass (not overwhelming). The memory wire used for stability is very effective once you dial in the fitment. The tungsten weights give them a robust feel and may be a detriment to some but i think its just right. The sound quality relies totally on the fit. It comes with a total of 4 sets of ear peices (wish there were 2 more in-between sizes) that are fragile (i tore the smallest size). They look great, but sound better. I am very satisfied.

I don't like them at all. The cable is to stiff so everything that scratches against it can be heard very clearly in your ears. The sound isolation is not really god and at the same time they are to closed for my liking if I am out walking and want to be able to hear what is happening around me.
I love the P5, but the C5 is simply not good enough in my opinion. Try Shure's SE530 with multiple drivers, better band with and if I recall correctly can be had at the same price point.

In regards to the review mentioned in the previous post I disagree. Think that if you use the P5 with a good headphone amplifier then you will find it very neutral..

I love mine but I dont use them for critical listening, I have a bunch of music that ranges from 128 AAC to AIFF lossless, they sound fine with all types of music - they stay on nice and snug when I go for a run and where comfy in a recent trip to Europe. I usually use them with the iPhone when the kids are listening their music in the car and bluetooth wouldnt be an option.

I like them more than the Dre's which I think are OK but bassy. I also like the Klipsch i4 - but prefer the B&Ws.

Well...that right there...I wont be buying. I absolutely HATE cord noise!!!!! I dont want to hear ANYTHING but the music while walking around. I have cheap headphones right now because I have yet to find a truly silent pair. Cord noise is the most god awful thing about headphones. UGH!

Test a pair somewhere - maybe your local Apple store has them. I have NEVER heard any sort of "cord noise" on mine.

I'm sure with enough research you'd find a positive review to counter a negative, but like Pio, I do not have any cord issues (granted I always have my cord under my shirt to keep it out of the way). I initially wanted to return them due to poor fit but once I figured out which ear peice was best, and that the memory wire loop can be manipulated, they sit nicely and very securely...but I admit it took more effort than most. They also work very well as my iPhone4S headset via its built in remote, which has volume and forward/back control. I also recommend finding a pair to demo...or find a retailer with a good return policy such as amazon.

I am sure they are better then my Bose QC15 I got yesterday... (I got free so please keep the flaming to a minimum). Boy do these suck for music, but at lease the noise cancelling is good.. Stay away from Bose headphones... But you already knew that.

I've got both the P5's and the C5's.

I had the P5's first, and I really liked them.

Got a pair of C5's while on a trip (realized I forgot my P5's) and at first I didn't like it too much. Had the cord noise, bass was kinda boomy which made the rest of it sound not as crisp.

No matter which ear tip I used I couldn't get a good fit... but with the experience I had with other in ears (such as Etymotic Research, Shure, Apple In Ears) I knew the problem was more with fitment.

So I ditched the silicon tips and used Comply Foam tips... and it completely transformed the C5's. Much less cord noise, better isolation, better fit, better staging, more balanced low's which got better as the C5's broke in more.

Now I would say the sound is almost just like my P5's except with a bit more of an open feel and more realistic sounding bass...

Just in case it was not clear, I was talking about the P5.
                      I misread the thread title.

                        Headphones, anyone?
                        by Ovation
As there doesn't seem to be any particular place to discuss headphones, I thought I'd open a thread here.

Just curious about what, if any, headphones (on-ear, over-ear, in-ear, other) people are using? How important? How often? With headphone amp? Or not? Best set(s) ever heard? End-game...

Well I just got my Bowers & Wilkins C5 headphones and all I can say is WOW!!!! :E

Totally impressed, even with only 30 minutes of listening on them so far... The quality is near perfect, very neutral and balanced sound from them. It's almost list sitting at home listening on...

I raised this in the thread about B&Ws new product, which turned out to be a sound bar. (insert snore here)

The more I think about it the more I think that B&W is moving away from its traditional market. How many audiophiles would consider a soundbar as their solution, how many...

                        Hey all,

I'm BIG into mobile music and use my HTC Sensation as my portable music player. Currently, I use the Motorola "Motrorokr S9-HD" bluetooth wireless headset for most of my 'out of the house' and away from my main stereo listening. I've been using this headset for a couple...

Since I listen to CDs at work through headphones on a cheap boombox more than I do on my quasi-audiophile grade system at home, I was thinking that I should upgrade my headphones. Does anyone have headphones that sound great (as good as a decent set of speakers) that won't require me to refinance my...
