That is a very subjective question. The answer is: It depends on how much you value music and how much you value $5000.

For me, the difference between 802 and 800 was worth the extra money. I figured that over 20 years, it amounted to 3 beers a month. So ...

In any case, you cant go wrong with 802s. They are really beautiful, not too hard to drive and very musical.

Exactly. The cost and the performance differential due to that is the crux of the issue.

Main thing I don't like about the 803 is how high the tweeters are. Right now my 804S tweeters are just a tad over ear level (maybe this is why the previous 803D was measured to have a little suck out in the midrange because the tweeters where so high?) I also think that the 802's are the "best looking" of the bunch. I don't like how the 800D/Di have the square base and the 802 has a base that curves nice and blends with the rest of the cabinet design (I also like the "simple look" of the 803 and down cabinets - the right amount of elegance without being in-your-face flashy like say Paradigms overly blingy look).

If I could afford the 802 right now and was in the market, I would just get the 802 anyway... This is actually the next speaker I would upgrade to in the future in the new series from my 804S. 803 isn't even a thought...

Nimrodasas, the forumer Style had both 803Di and 802Di.

You could ask him about these loudspeakers...

This is a very good suggestion. Style wil be able to give you an excellent comparison. I believe you will find he liked the 802 Diamonds a lot better.

In the last series "D", the 803D.

But it's probable that the new 803Di is more simple to drive rispect to 802Di...

I just recently had an opportunity to audition the 803 Diamond, one the few speakers on my shortlist for possible purchase. I liked very much what I heard, and loved the fact that it displayed none of the miserable rising treble of some other highly touted speakers. However, I encountered an issue I...

Last week B&W delivered a brand new pair of 803 Diamond speakers to my house. I haven’t listened to them yet. I haven’t even taken them out of their boxes, and I probably won’t do so for many months.

The new Diamonds are replacements for my 803D speakers which took a tumble...

Has anyone auditioned the new 803 Diamond and if so what are the differences that you heard? I Have the old 803d and just wanted to see if anyone thinks the new ones are a significant upgrade in sound quality?

                            by Freddie40
I just ordered a pair of 802 Series Diamond speakers in color Rosenut. I decided that trying to upgrade my Matrix 802s was a idea that would just would just leave me wanting new speakers. So, I took the plunge. About a month till delivery
