Any recommendations as to a good turntable for my system. I'd like it to be someone sonically equivalent to my cd player. Simply for comparison purposes. Also around $500 would be nice. Price before sonic equivalence though. Thank you much.

With all respect this section is for B&W speakers, so maybe move it to the right place..
However for that kind of money I would either suggest looking at something used/secondhand or try to take a look at Pro-ject or music hall. Think Pro-ject give you a lot of bang for the buck and they are easy to upgrade if you feel like it (new platters). Music hall is made by Pro-ject anyway..

"The term "audiophile" means essentially nothing -- it's a self-anointed status that entails no credentials, qualifications or certifications. It means "hobbyist," nothing more, and anyone can lay claim to it. Ironically, I've come to recognize that "audiophiles" represent a group that will believe almost anything"- Bottom

by Kevin_McCLast year I got back into vinyl, but before buying a nice TT I figured I'd get a cheaper used one to try first to see if I would really still enjoy LP's.
Well as it turns out I listen almost exclusively to LP's, so I want to get a better turntable. I have three older TT's that I've been...-

by rdramHey all,
In January 2013, I bought a Pro-ject Debut III to see if I wanted to get back into vinyl. The answer was yes, and it's time to upgrade. Couple things with the Debut III...has an 11" platter and a $50 cartridge. I think I might be missing something. My three options for an...-

by gostanI have been without a turntable for about three months since selling my Music Hall MF-9. I have been lucky enough to pick up a 20 year old Acoustic Research ETL-1 with a Sumiko FT-3 tonearm. The table is one of the few ever produced by AR with an ebony black high gloss base. The entire set-up is...-
