I don't think B&W are making the HTM1D anymore. So, if you are looking for a HTM1D, your best shot might be to look on Audiogon for a used one which will not be the Gloss Black that matches your 802 Diamonds. If you are looking for a HTM1 Diamond, I don't think B&W made one. The HTM2 Diamond is the center channel that they are promoting to match the 802 Diamond and the 800 Diamond.- Bottom

So I sent an email to B&W asking if an HTM1D can be special ordered and essentially the answer was the HTM1D was discontinued do to market requirements and the inability of the cabinet to be produced when they moved the cabinet production to the UK.- Bottom

That's kind of an odd reamark, that they couldn't make the cabinet at home in the UK. I wouldn't think it to have been any more difficult to make that than the 802 and 800 cabinets.B&W 800 Diamonds (L/R), HTM2 Diamond (C), 802 Diamonds (SL/SR), Paradigm Signature Sub 25 (LFE), Reference Servo 15a x 2 (Stereo subs), Lexicon MC-12Bv5EQ SSP, Bryston 28B-SST2x 2, 7B-SST2x2, 4B-SST C Series, BDP-2, Oppo UDP-205, Pioneer Elite Kuro PRO-150FD, Furman SPR-20i, IT-Reference, Eastlink Maestro PVR, Xbox One & 360, PS3, Siltech Golden Ridge II, Ruby Hill IIx2, 330ix2, Kimber Kable PK10 Gold, Tonic, PBJ, Cadence, HD19e, HD19, OPT-1, HDSW 4x1, Ixos 6003, Harmony 1000- Bottom

The old 800 series was produced in Denmark. They moved the production to the UK, but perhaps there is a special pressing machine for the htm1d they didnt keep?Originally posted by Rod#SThat's kind of an odd reamark, that they couldn't make the cabinet at home in the UK. Yes, I think you hit the nail on the head. The demand, for the HTM1D, wasn't there, and people didn't have the room for such a large and heavy, 205 lbs., Center Channel. My dealer never had the HTM1D matched with the 800's or 802's. He always had the HTM2D matched with them, and some people were saying that was too big.Originally posted by scanidoI'm sure if the market demand was there they would have easily moved/bought the machines required to make the HTM1D. It's likely that there just simply wasn't enough demand for it.- Bottom

by KahunaCanuckI have an opportunity to trade my HTM2D for the HTM1D...I hadn't really planned to do this for some time, but if I want to make this upgrade I either make this deal or wait and buy used later on, then sell mine. Being such a big brute, I am not sure I really want to do that.
So, my...-

by ShadowZAAssuming that your present front end speaker setup was: 802D (front left) - HTM2D (centre) - 802D (front right) and assuming further that the height and space factor was not an issue if you were to have an 802D for the centre, what would the best setup be from an audio quality perspective regarding...-

by RebelManReading some posts involving the old and new 800 Series where the diamond tweeter is concerned can be a bit confusing at times. For instance the new 805 Diamond has been labeled everything from 805D, 805Di to 805D2. According to B&W they are referencing the new series as the D2 series for short....-
