    Which Power Amp

    Dear HT Members,

    I have B&W 604 S3, B&W 686, B&W HTM61 ;x( and need to decide which power amp I should go.
I would say that I will use 70/30 (Music/ HT)
My friend agreed to sell on those power amp to me

    1. ATI 1505 (don't know how old the amp is) = 5x150 W (around $500)
    2. Rotel RMB-1075 = 5x120 W (Around $700)
    3. Rotel RB-985 MKii THX = 5x100 W (Around $400)

Which one I should go with???

I would seriously look for a from Emotiva. There specs and prices are unbelievable. The Emotiva XPA-5 is actually better than a 1075 spec wise. I have had both and prefer the XPA-5.

Go with the Emotiva XPA-5. Warranty, enough power for any future changes to your speaker lineup. On sale now for $709. Unless your friend has some information about you that you don't want getting out..... Then just pick one.

Emotiva gets many thumbs up, I bet theyre great amps. I have been using a Rotel 1075 since 2001 and its never let me down.

I know it might not be popular to say, but IMO buy as much power / current as you can afford and avoid amps with fans. Solid state amps sound largely the same.

Given your 3 stated choices, and from experience, Rotel RMB-1075.

I've never heard Emotiva in person but they do have their no-risk in-home trial period so it might be worth your time to try one.
