    B&W 686

    I am moving into an apartment (1bdrm) and my plans are as follows.

    I would like to have my stereo in the living room. Only the stereo.
    B&W 683, Rotel RC-1082, RB-1080, RCD-1072, RLC-1040

    In my bedroom I would like to have my plasma mounted on the wall, with my HD PVR.

    So I was thinking of getting a pair of B&W 686's with a Rotel 10 series integrated. Possibly the RA-1062 (suggestions?)

    So what I am asking for is some info on the 686's. There cheap which I like. The B&W which I will never buy other. Any information from current or previous owners would be greatly appreciated. They would only be for TV watching.

      I have heard this setup and it works very well. The RA-1062 def. sounds like it pushes more than 60 X 2. For TV, or occasional music I think it would be a nice little set up!!!

      As far as the 686s sound, I was pretty impressed. I purchased the 685s over them, because they had a more full sound, and more bass. (Bigger woofer/Cab). But I am using the 685s as mains in a bigger room too. For bedroom duty, it would be the perfect little set up....Go for it!!!

              what about a pair of CM1 for the bedroom? (unless your bedroom is giant) grab them used if new is not in the budget.
              Marantz SR5002 (music fed by apple airport express via optical)
              rotel RB-985 THX (4 channels bipowering fronts, 1 for the center)
              B&W - 683, CDM-CNT, CDS3 (sides), DM601 (rears)
              a combo of haveflex and audioquest cables.

                  Even used, the price is out of range. I'd like to put more money into cabling on my main system vs spending more in the bedroom. It would be nice though. Could have some fun A/B'ing them with the 683's

                      I went to my local dealer today to buy B&W 685s and 686s but was told they were not supplied anymore. Apparently, an upgrade is coming out in the first week of September. Can anybody verify this information?

                      Hi there.. Im thinking to get B&W M1 speakers for my bedroom which is 4.35 m x 2.7.. They would be on long wall about 2 meters from each other.

                      In the room is bed which is 2,2m x 1,9m and since there is not too much space i have to put speakers on wall.. I was thinking B&W 686...
