    Cabinet repairs to 800D

    Hi All,

I need to do some cabinet repairs after my speakers were damaged during a house move.

Does anyone know how to remove the marlin head and tweeter from the 800D's? The woofers look fairly simple to remove, but how do you release the "head" section?

I've emails B&W, but thought if someone knew on the forums that would be faster.

    Thanks!

"The term "audiophile" means essentially nothing -- it's a self-anointed status that entails no credentials, qualifications or certifications. It means "hobbyist," nothing more, and anyone can lay claim to it. Ironically, I've come to recognize that "audiophiles" represent a group that will believe almost anything"

          Advise on Amp repairs
          by urlawyer
I have a two channel amp with a bad right channel. I took it to a local repair shop. They required that I pay, up front, an evaluation fee of $125.00. A week later they called and said that the repair would cost $325.00 plus parts plus tax. I agreed to the repairs. A week later I was told the repairs...

          1098 Repairs

This is the 3rd time the relays and caps have gone out on my 1098, I assume it's the relays and caps since it has the same symptoms again. The audio starts cutting out, at the same time I can hear the relays switching and the mode flashing on the screen, then all sound will go away and popping noise...

Well folks the debate about the crossovers used in the D models of B&W’s newest 800 Series speakers rages on with renewed life. Thanks to the photo Race Car Driver dug up in another thread showing the crossover network in the base of the 802D plinth proves different crossover components are used...

800D and VLT but what about HT?
          by MikeS
I was really into audio gear in the 1970s (yes, I'm old) and was able to try many tube components of the era from Marantz, Mac, early ARC and more. My last set-up was a Marantz 8B amp (fantastic highs), Mac C22 pre-amp (good highs, mediocre bass) with 15" JBL woofers, Altec drivers/horns and ElectroVoice...
