    Sub Whoes

Well after having to always keep the volume down on my 2 asw300 subs so they do not bottom out I have come to the conclusion that I need some new subs or just one really good one.I like the earth rattling window shaking experience.I like movies loud and my bass loud and I need a sub that will dip way down and have a high db out put without bottoming out.So what do you guys recommend.I am thinking of buying used off of A......... or maybe a dyi project.I am just so tired of not having the full ht experience and with 2 subs with 8 inch drivers in them... is just not getting it. Any input is appreciated.Thanks.

Room is 13.5 x 14.5 feet (Ceiling is sloped so goes from 8 feet to 12 feet). And budget around 500.00.

Is the room open to other rooms or is it closed off (i.e. with a door)?

You could probably squeeze out a decent DIY project with that budget.

Room has a hallway at rear of room(no door) and closed off to kitchen by a door.

I have considered upgrading to the SB12-Plus due to the smaller cabinet and Rosewood finish to match the B&W's I will be getting. Or if I get really crazy, maybe a JL Audio Fathom sub.

That looks like a nice sub - I had one of the first cylinder models that SVS offered bac a few years ago.

I have two DIY SDX-15's and a HGS-10, very comparable to dual SVS 13 Ultra's.
                    As measured here:

I currently have only the one powered up in a temporary 130L sealed box thus far, you can check it on my youtube channel though:
My room is 31x15 and I have usable output to 15hz from a distance of 13ft.

For ~500US you can get a Behringer EP2500 to power it and the driver; the box-making part it up to you though...

I would HIGHLY recommend you buy a BFD too, is well worth every penny spent!

Thanks Danish for the info.I think I understand what it does.It is starting to look like a DIY project is a little out of my expertise.

ASW300 sub - pulsing sound when "auto" powered off
                            by fretman
I just bought a second ASW300 sub to add to my system, used, on eBay. It works fine, except - as the subject says - when in "auto" mode, after powering itself down, it makes a strange pulsing sound, with a slight chirp to it. It makes this sound even with no amp or speaker connected, and...

I need speakers for that little combo to listen some music in dinning/living room (separate HT is in the basement)…

                            I was thinking at a B&W DM303/ASW300 sub-sat combo for that set up…
