    Tara Labs Burn in CD

i am burning in my new pre amp on my B&W 683's with the tara labs cascade burn in disk. I'd like to leave the system on for a week or so. can i put the boxes over the speakers to reduce the volume? will the sound waves within the box harm the speakers in anyway?

Eh... Just play blast Metallica - Kill Em' All at reference levels and have the job done in a few minutes, lol. Works for me.... :B

You probably do not need to have high volume when "burning in" equipments. Just leave it on whisper level for 72 hours and you should be all set.

Or place the speakers face to face and wire one out of phase.

The idea of burning in the speakers is exercising them mechanically, right? I would assume that you would need louder volumes to cause more speaker cone excursion to properly burn them in.

That will do it , without undue SPL.
