    Rear Speaker Options

I currently have CM-7s as my front speakers with the corresponding CM center. I am looking for adequate rear speakers that won't break the bank. Any suggestions? Would the 685s or 686s work?

What's wrong with the CM5's or CM1's? I would think they would sound better with your front sound stage.

Nothing wrong with those. I'm sure they'd sound great with what I have. Just not sure if I could spend the money for them at this point in time.

I am sure the 685 or 686 will work fine. However, I would rather spend the money now to get the CM1 and be done with it. The expression "at this point in time" indicates that you may consider upgrading in the future. Upgrading, trading-in, or selling are all more expensive options than getting what you actually want right from the start.

              Problem with distortion on CM1s
              by cholas
I hope this is posted in the right place. If it is I would greatly appreciate some help with the following problem:

I am experiencing severe distortion via my FL and FR B&W CM1s. It only seems to happen during particularly loud explosions viz: The first bomb going off in The Hurt...

              CM1s on a bookshelf?

Considering purchase of two CM1s for R/L speakers for home theater. Wife has vetoed floor stands, so am wondering if placing the CM1s on bookshelves on either side of TV will be a problem? Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thx

Could my CM7s sound even better?
              by SF_VR6
So my CM7s are almost 1 month old.

I am using a very nice Marantz AVR pushing these main and center.
The AVR is the SR7001 pushing 110wpc.

My CM7s are spec'd to handle up to 150wpc on the mains.

              Am I underpowering these babies?

              Rotel for CM7s
              I've been looking for a integrated/receiver to power a pair of B&W CM7s for a while now.

Exclusively 2 channel. Music is of upmost importance. Computer audio (need a DAC) and vinyl (already have a phono pre-amp). I'll run my TV though the amp, but I honestly...

              Used CM2s or new CM1s?
              by alec4444
              Hello all,

First post here; hopefully not my last. I currently own a bunch of old, mass market electronics and I'm looking to upgrade to something better. Basic plan of action:

Step 1: Get the Rotel 1550 Surround Receiver. I can hook this up to some older style Polk...
