VM6 vs FPM2 as rear surround speakers

I'm looking into purchasing surround wall mounted speakers to complement my N804's and NHTM2 speakers. I'm not interested in investing into the SMCS rear speakers. My system will only be a 5.1 set-up . I checked the internet and from what I saw both models are approx. $450 each.

I will be relocating to the states. My equipment will be purchased new and will be simplified. A Dolby Digital 5.1 receiver, an oppo universal player, and a emotiva XPA-5 amp. Subwoofer will be purchased later.

If the price of the VM6 and the FPM2 are similiar, which one would you choose. I have not heard either and have not had the opportunity nor time to look into this, due to travel obligations.

I appreciate comments from anyone with experience with these two different models.

Get the VM6. It's much better than the FPM2. The VM6 uses the same drivers as the CM1 and is a much newer design. The VM6 is only available in black so as long as the color is OK get the VM6.

No, it's black only. That is according to the last price list I have (dated July of this year) and B&W's website.

Thanks for the advice concerning the wall mount speakers. As soon as I get a chance I will be searching for a dealer who has them available in the Detroit area for auditioning.
                Appreciate the replies and recommendations.
                Thanks,
                Tschuss Joe

Statement Mini and Center/Surround Speaker placement.

Hoping someone will help me with this dilemma.
I plan to eventually build the Mini Statements for my mains, Mini Statement center channel (Center) and have read that the center channel can also be used as surround (side) and surround (rear) speakers?? This will be for a 7.1 system.

                  B&W 600 S3 vs FPM2 - First Comparison
                  by audioqueso
                  Hello Everyone,

A few weeks back, I had picked up a pair of DS6 S3 for surround duties. They sounded almost identical to my 600 S3 (that's a really good thing), but it just didn't work out for me for HT duties. Sold them, and bought a pair of brand new FPM2's.
                  Upon first playing...

Side and Rear speakers to match FPM's?
                  by marius
I just ordered 3 FPM5's for LCR speakers. I'd like to eventually upgrade my rear/side speakers to match the FPM's in the front, but my wife says that they need to be in white or silver. I could go for FPM2's but they seem a bit pricy (especially after going over-budget on the FPM5's).
