Right now I'm on track to buy a Parasound A51 amp but I am wondering how much power the SCMS DS8S and 805S can really handle. They are all three rated at 120 Watts RMS. I'm just wondering if the A52 at 125 Watts/channel is a better fit then the 250WPC an A51 cranks out. I currently don't have any of the listed but they are on the list when I can afford them (after the 802D's of course!).

I am running my SCMS on a MC205 rated at 200w a channel, but closer to 300w for front duty. I even have gotten the power gaurd lights to flicker so these speakers can handle the power!
I was surprised that even at that level, the speakers sounded so clean and fluid. 200-250w is probably the sweat spot for these speakers.- Bottom

Woohoo, A51 it is for me then! Anybody have a better amp in that price range (used 2000-2800) that can perform better?- Bottom

by speakerboyFor space reasons, I have decided to sell my (4) 805 speakers and stands in favor of wall-mount speakers. I am considering (4) DS8S speakers but before I buy, I thought I'd get people's opinions and experiences with the SCMS speakers, DS8S speakers, or combination of both.

by JargonGRI am thinking about trying Dolby PrologicIIz and Audyssey DSX on my setup and I stuck between those speakers.
Is there any reason to pay extra for the dipole function of the DS8S over the SCMS when used as height channel speakers and or wide channel on DSX?
The other parts...-

by springer49My brother is putting together a home theater and I was hoping to get some opinions from the experts.
SCMS-1 or 805S for the rear speakers.
They will be very close to the seating area. Pretty much at ear level or slightly above and within 1-3 feet of the listener.
He has been trying...-

by KarmaHI All,
I’m in the midst of an experiment. The HT system I am currently putting together is for my bedroom. It’s now mostly finished and I must say it sounds very good. Here is the essence of the experiment.
Can I use a good bookshelf speaker (the 805S) and a good subwoofer...-

by DanielfHi,
I have finally decided to go with a pair of 803s and a HTM3s. They will be used 70% for HT and 30% for 2-channel music. I am not sure what to choose for surround speakers... and need some recommendations. I am debating between 805s and SCMs since that is what fits my budget. My problem...-
