    FYI: Don't expect diamonds on the walls

    Last week I was at the Definitive Audio event in Seattle, Wa where B&W debuted their new CT 8.4 speaker. You can see pic's in the Classe thread.

    I had a conversation with Chris Browder a VP at B&W. He said that the next 800 series can expect more diamonds in the line, but don't plan on seeing any of their wall mounted speakers hosting a diamond tweeter. Apparently the proximity to the wall is problematic at best. It is the same reason why they opted to not put them in the CT 800 series speakers.

    Thought people might be interested in this information.

          Any hints to when the new 800 series line up may be introduced?

            Another couple years down the road, so anything is subject to change. The are considering dropping a speaker in the series. 803s and 803d would be unnecessary, as they would all be diamonds. Undecided which one would drop 804s or 803s.

            Also, they are hoping for a new signature model every 5 years.

              Went with a group to Stereo Exchange in NYC to hear their wares. And the new 800 series were there.

              Let me just say that to all the people complaining about the way the speaker looks with the silver trim, rest assured that it looks very handsome in person. I think the flash on camera's...

              B&W 805 Diamonds vs. 804 Diamonds?

              I am very happy with my current music audio system (NAD Masters Series M3, M4 & M5), Velodyne Optimum 10 sub, Furman power conditioner, Audioquest cables and B&W CM5's on stands. Silly me, I had some free time the other day and stopped by my favorite audio salon to audition the new PM1's. ...

              800 Diamonds in Canada
              by Rod#S
              Hi;

              I was wondering, it's been ages since I seen the Canadian list of the 800 series Diamond lineup, can the 800 Diamonds be had, new, for less than 20k Canadian, before taxes obviously? The 802 Diamonds come in closer to 10k when actually purchased then they do 20k so I was curious how...

              switching 802 Diamonds with 800's?

              Hi... if your 2 channel system remained the same and you only switched the 802 Diamonds for 800 Diamonds... would you notice a difference?

              I purchased a pair of brand new B&W 804 Diamonds along with Emotiva XPA-5 amps (200W x 5) and Emotiva processor UMC-1 2 months ago.
              The home theater sound is excellent for what I need.
              However, I think I can get much better 2 channel listening out of the 804 Diamonds with the right...
