    Muffled sound

    Hi All,

Over the passed few weeks I've been breaking in my new B&W 685 and HTM62 speakers along with a Velodyne 1200R subwoofer.

I find the sound very muffled, the voices are hidden and not clear.

I'm wondering if my Harman Kardon AVR is causing this...

I've got good quality cables and have the settings on the AVR to LARGE.

    Any ideas?

For starters, change your setting from large to small - you've got a subwoofer, so there's no point in sending all that low frequency to your 685s. You may need to experiment with crossover in your AVR, but start out crossing over your 685s at 80Hz and see how that sounds.

      Hi,

I'm using the following for a 100% HT

      B&W 685 Bookshelf

      Inwall rear speakers
      Velodyne SPL-1200R

My A/V Receiver supports setting the speakers to SMALL or LARGE and then also allows a crossover setting. ...

      Hi all.

I'm in the process of getting a new center speaker for my ht system and was checking the htm62 that it seems is the natural partner with my B&W 684. The thing is that i haven't been able to listen it and found a few and different opinions about its performance. Currently i...

I've been reading this forum about a month now and this is my 1st post. Lot's of great info and experiences! I've had my HT for a year and am ready to move into B&Ws. I'm looking for your experiences and recommendations.

I've heard the 685's and was very impressed. I heard them with...

How much space should there be between two B&W 685s?

How much space should there be between two B&W 685s?
I think current space is about 3.0-3.5 m.

Also a question about vocals and B&W 685.I sometimes hear like vocals sound tiny(music is more dominant than vocals) and/or vocals are singing from a bit far away,is it cause...
