    HELP ! My HTM1 Bleeds!

Just this morning, I discover that the rear of my HTM1 bleeds a kind of black sticky liquid stuff. It apparantly came from the screw knob inbetween the 4 binding poles, anyone got any idea what's happening?

Leaking capacitor is the only thing I can think of. Maybe?

I would say it isn't good by any measure.

You haven't been listening to that Smooth Jazz stuff by any chance have you?

If it's doing that to your speaker imagine what it's doing to your brain.

Do you have a source of heat near it?
        Sounds like a melted o-ring.

No pictures as I have wiped it off.

And there's no source of heat nearby other than the room temperature which I think hottest in the day might be 28-30degC max. Gasket can take this temp right? And my speaker isn't even running most of the time these days. Probably about once a week over the weekends.

I'm guessing it still sounds ok?

If there is screws holding the plate in you might want to take them out and have a look at the inside to make sure everything is tip top.

Just had it sent it for servicing. My dealer also had no clue what this is, will have to wait for a week for them to analyse and get back to me

wettou, that's really clutching at straws.

It's much more likely to be caused by dirty mains power which is manifesting itself as black goo.

This problem would be fixed by replacing the amp's power cable with a much more expensive one.
