On the market for 800Ds in Texas

    New poster.
After much deliberation and listening i am going to purchase B&W 800Ds for my 2 channel set-up. Have looked at the alternatives (and listened to a few) but cant get away from them!

My question - need some help on purchasing. I am located in Texas, any advice on getting a good deal on new or partially-new 800Ds below the quoted retail price?

    Thanks.

      800d's

If you want new and are buying your entire system at once I would look
into a store called MODIA. They have the 800d's and sell Mcintosh and Classe.
      Great place!

Don't expect much of a discount from MODIA (previously The Home Theater Store). I got 0% discount on my Rotel gear and 12% discount on some N804 that were being discontinued.

There is a nice pair of rosewood 800's for sale in Colorado on Audiogon right now. Not too far away and $8,000 off of retail.

Yes, I bought my RC-1070 & RB-1070 togeter then the B&W N804 the following week. They are the only Rotel/B&W dealer in the Houston area.

Sorry to hear normally a 10% is pretty standard.

I always get 10-15% off at MODIA (Home Theater Store). I just ask and then start to walk out and what do you know... Also, check out the clearance center off Hornwood in Houston.

I have bought quite a few things at the Home Theater Store (now Modia) and they always give me a 10% discount.

Both in the $15K range. Shipping should be about $500 or less. I used Yellow Freight.

You might try Bjorns in San Antonio. Not sure of their prices though.
