As Rebelman pointed out to me, the display number don't mean squat, you need a spl meter. I blew my tweeters listening to the speakers at their max (my normal...ok was...maybe... will see :W ) only to throw in a cd that its output was 5-8db louder than the rest of my cd's(it was a killer cd! ). I suspect there might be some high transcient signals in there that also help do me in. The same might be true for you. Did you blow your tweeters listening to the same cd?

Anyway get a meter, and find out whats really going on!

Problem with warranty and local dealer
      by theMaximus
I took my RB-1070 to my local dealer with my original receipt from another dealer in New York, where I bought my equipment before moving to where I am now. My current local Rotel dealer told me that they would only handle warranty works for equipment bought from them. They told me to ship it to my...

random project ideas pt. 1: double tweeters
      by capslock
I've been harboring a couple of ideas that I haven't really had time to pursue. So I'll throw them at you and see who picks up on them:

First one: Dual tweeters. Something Dynaudio has been doing for a while. They use two 25 mm Nd tweeters side by side and take one out early (probably...

      B&W damaged tweeters - What's the cause?
      by sharkman777
I have a setup of 602s - front towers, back bookshelves, center channel and sub. Both the front tower 602s have damaged tweeters (image enclosed). Is there any way these tweeters were damaged simply by normal usage (i.e. they were blown) or would this have to have been physical damage (i.e. someone...
