    Amplifier for DM3000

    Purchased used DM3000s and want to use them for music only. Already have a great HT setup. My power is a Yamaha RX-V 995 that delivers 100 watts per channel for 5.1 surround sound. I believe I can hook the DM3000s to this AV receiver and use them as the B speakers. Any thoughts on this approach would be appreciated.

    I would also ask for recommendations for adding an amp. I'm not familiar with using amps or pre-amps. The RX-V 995 has an output for an amp. Questions I have include:
    Do I need an amp and a pre-amp?
    Does the 995 act as a pre-amp?
    What amps work best with B&W DM3000s?

    I believe the DM3000 is about the same as a B&W 704.

      I currently use the RC 995 preamp. Its a very musical preamp that doesn't lack a lot compared to high end preamps I've heard. But I'm wondering about upgrading to the RC 1590. Any comments on the 1590? Is it too very musical or does it lack compared to their older preamps like my 995? I need tape inputs...

      Does anyone out there own or ever listened to the B&W DM3000? I stumbled across a pair 2 days ago in an ad which had just been listed so I immediately made an appointment to see them. They were in excellent cosmetic condition considering their age but more importantly the drivers looked perfect....

      I am having Yamaha RXV-2300 and Klipsch RF-35 home theatre speaker system. Most of the audio CDs I have are 2 channel, how I can listen these audio CDs on five channels.

      I believe you can set this up in the receiver, RXV-2300, would appreciate if someone can guide me how to do this....
