Need help with center channel for XT4's

    Hi all,

I need a bit of help with an upcoming purchase. My home is quite modern, so anything I buy has to take into account the WAF. With that said, I've narrowed it down to the B&W XT series, but the matching center channel seems too deep to wall-mount under the LCD (depth on the speaker is 8.4" mounted). I know matching the fronts is very important, but how bad would the FPM6 as the center channel be in this situation? My primary listening is HT/2-channel music. Thanks for any advice!

Dont worry about mounting depth for the XTC, the mount swivels so you have a number of possibilities for mounting. Mine is surface mounted just above the screen. . Check my pics. The FPM is not bad but it really isn't sonically matched to the XT.
From my pics another point you can take home is that the XT4 are not going to match the TV mounting depth either, however, they will match the XTC's "depth" perfectly.

Zaph's ZDT3 adapted to a sealed center channel - build pics and notes

First let me say thanks to Zaph for all he has contributed to the DIY audio community over the years, and make it clear that this adaptation clearly takes some liberties with the original - any mistakes in the execution are purely my own. In my subjective opinion though (and without any measurement...

      Center channel idea
      by richh
I've got the dreaded "center channel needs to fit into a cubby hole in an entertainment center that we just bought" dilema. The space for the center channel is about 15" wide by 9" tall by 17" deep. The entertainment center is built like a bookcase so the cubby hole is more...

      Good Price/Performance Center Channel

My soon-to-be-roommate and I are going to be building a sound system for our apartment next semester and we couldn't quite decide on a center channel. Right now I'm in the process of getting enough money to finish my two mains, which are Mark K's RS225/RS28A. We were thinking of building the same design...
