B&W Sponsors "Live from Abbey Road"

Got an email about this from B&W today. Looks very interesting...to be shown on the Sundance channel beginning June 21.

    Live from Abbey Road

As mentioned in the announcement, "B&W 800 Series loudspeakers were used throughout the recording, mixing and mastering of Live from Abbey Road."

Yeah, shame they sent it out late, 3 of the 12 have already aired (though I suppose they will replay them). The series has been very good so far. I would love to see it released on DVD with a good high res audio mix.

Funny, I didn't even notice the email was after the start date. I don't get Sundance anyway, since it's on a Time Warner Cable tier that I don't have. Need to move to a Dish one of these days...

I read somewhere that the series was going to premiere in the UK well before the US. There's a lag time, but all the performances should be available to Sundance. Universal HD will also be showing Live from Abbey Road in HD come August.

Sundance is already well into the series. Good to know that Universal HD will be picking the series up as well though. I have seen every episode so far, and would be happy to watch it again in HD.

Excellent! UniversalHD is one that I do have through TWC.

What a pity that us mere mortals wont be able to see these programmes.

We only have Crappy TV stations here, so whatever Sundance is will never come over our smoke signals and jungle drums!!!

Sundance is merely an American television broadcast channel on cable and satellite. The actual Abbey Road series is produced in England. They have a web site, and I believe the series is being fed worldwide through various syndication deals.

I'm happy to report that it is now being shown here on Universal HD. Got my recorder set up to catch it!

I caught last week's show and now have the recorder setup to catch the rest. It looks like they have some good people lined up in the near future.

This show beams into my home via satellite at 8.30pm on Wednesday evenings.

Wednesday after work is when I watch music DVDs because my wife goes out socialising with her girlfriends, so the show fits in perfectly and I'm already in the groove.

I'm impressed with the musicians, the sound quality and the picture quality of this wonderful program.
