I believe the MA 6900 is rated at 200W per channel so it should run your 804s very well. I run my N804 using 10 years old Luxman 100W stereo amp and they sound fine.
Besides, you can always upgrade to a separate amp and use the preamp section in the 6900 in the future.

MA6900 would be an ideal solution with those 804S and the sound would be amazing! Unless you want to go with seperates, which IMHO you'd have to go for the MC402 to get appreciable gains over the MA6900, I think you have a winning combination!

I'm contemplating a 5.1 McIntosh setup one day and the synergy with B&W is incredible.

thank you so much Scanido,I've try out the pre-power passlab X150.5 but I was disappointed, the sound was bright and not as smooth as the Mc MA 6900,before I bought the Mc Intosh MA 6900,I used to drive my 804s with the Accuphase E 408,but when I've auditioned the 6900,I decided to replaced accuphase with the 6900.

Hi tran_tuan_duc, you're right, N804 is rated at 89db senssitivity whereas 804S is at 90db. So theoretically, your 804s is easier to drive. I don't think you can go wrong with the 6900.

              Any pics tran_tuan_duc?

I'm curious to know how the MA6900 looks in real life as my dealer does not have one.

The MA6900 and 804S is a *great* match. I have a MA6500 and 703's and I'm very happy with my system = great synergy!

                  Have fun!

                    Hi,

Could someone pls help me make a decision?

I am planning to upgrade my b&w705 to 804s however, the dealer near me don't have 804s. He said that if I order my speakers it will be available in 3-4 weeks time. At present, he has the older N804 and is recommending...

Hi. I am contemplating getting a used pair of N804 for around $2500. I really watned to get the 804s but cant swallow the thought of spending $5000 on speakers. So here is my question: are the n804 worth $2500? In other words, for the quality they offer, am I getting a deal or can I get something...

Will the N804 be a good match with the HTM4s and 805s rears? I'm asking because i can get a great deal on the N804 from my dealer but i'm apprehensive about the sound matching with the HTM4s and 805s in 5.1. Now all my music listening is in 2 channel.

My dealer has the 803s, which i listened...

I listened to B&W 603s3 (too thin), CM4 (nice), CM6 (more bass and the FST rocks) and then 703 (the best by far). When I came back to the CM6, it sounded like well localized boxes and thinner so I won't go lower than 703's. But since they sound very good (for now) on the affordable RA-1062, I can...

                    803D vs. 802D vs. 804S - a subjective comparison
                    by Hannu
I had an in-depth private demo at a scandinavian dealer last week. I compared 802D's to 803D's and finally listened to a pair of 804S's just to keep the things in scale. I've lived with a pair of the first generation N804's for 4 years now.

The electronics consisted of a stack of the...
