    N804 or 804s

Will the N804 be a good match with the HTM4s and 805s rears? I'm asking because i can get a great deal on the N804 from my dealer but i'm apprehensive about the sound matching with the HTM4s and 805s in 5.1. Now all my music listening is in 2 channel.

My dealer has the 803s, which i listened to but compared to the N804 theres no comparison, 803s hands down. (i should not have done that)
He has the 804s coming in a few weeks but i fear if i don't pick up the N804 they will be gone. Me and another good customer of his are in the running so he cannot hold them for me.

Anyone one want to lend me there experience or have/had a pair of N804 or 804s, please feel free to comment.

    Thx,
    Peter

They will match ok in my opinion. The tweeter from the center channel might stand out a tad because its been redesigned over the Nautilus line and extends farther in the frequency spectrum. I noticed a pretty good difference between my N805's and the new 805S's when it came to the tweeter. I personally haven't dont a comparasion of the N804 and 804S so im assuming with my experience between the N805 and 805S as they share the same tweeter. When you say good price how good of a price is your dealer giving u on the N804's?

I'm assuming since your buying a 800 sound system your dealer is going to cut you a 10% discount for at least buying the HTM3S and 804S's at the same time? If so I would at least ask for that. If you plan on keeping the 804S's for a long time I would do the 804S's over the N804's. Rochell bass drivers in the 804S's I hear are a nice improvement over the regular fiber board ones in the N804's. BVest thing to do is let your ears decide for you. Is it worth the extra money to get the 804S's? You decide. Good Luck with the decision.

I was thinking the same thing, since i will be keeping these for a very long time i should Just wait and demo the 804S.

Yeah he gives me a really good discount, usually eliminates the taxes which are pretty steep in CAD.

            Thanks dan,

About the 805 vs 805s... I suspect a lot of it has to do with the 3000hz vs. 4000hz crossover, not the actual redesign of the tweeter.

Well, the 804s came in and i must say happily i'm now the proud owner of the 804S. The differences were enough to jutify in my case. Even with the N804 having more playing time and broken in, the 804S just had that little extra something. Now i just need to put some playing time on these babies and listen to them get better each day.

I listened to B&W 603s3 (too thin), CM4 (nice), CM6 (more bass and the FST rocks) and then 703 (the best by far). When I came back to the CM6, it sounded like well localized boxes and thinner so I won't go lower than 703's. But since they sound very good (for now) on the affordable RA-1062, I can...

                  Hi
I am looking to upgrade my speaker to 804S and HTM4 using the Rotel RMB1075/RSP1068 to drive it. I normally listen to CD (bypass mode) and DVD concert music. Anyone know whether he rotel rmn 1075 can drive the 804S. I also have a REL 201 sub in my system. When I listen to the 804S speaker...

Sorry about all these attack of the threads.. but as you guys noticed that I make alot of threads when the decision time comes..

I guess warranty is what I'm looking at and seems to me that the 804S is exactly the same in specs as the 803S just that the 803S has a bigger cabinet, .5"...

                  B&W Retail Prices

                  HI All,
I'm in the midst of writing a post for this forum but I was stopped in my tracks because I could not find the standard US retail prices of the following B&W speakers:

                  800D, 801D, 803D, 803D, 803S, 804S, 805S, HTM4S, and ASW800.

                  Could any of you help?...

                  Htm3s + ((804s + Asw825) Or 803s)?

I am trying to decide which is the better option
                  1. HTM3S + 804S + ASW825
                  2. HTM3S + 803S

The price is similar (a little more for option 1), and I know option 2 could be upgraded in the future with the ASW825, but I have to limit myself a little.

                  I feel the...
