    AMP Switch for OHMS?

I am looking at a LAMM 1.2 Ref for my 800Ds. On the AMP it has a settings for 8 or 4 Ohm operation. The bias setting switch provides for class "A" operation with a speaker loads of either 4 or 8 Ohms. What switch should I use for 800Ds?

    Thanks!

PS: Anyone try these on 8 series?

I don't know anything about those amps but my MC501s have an option to connect the speakers to 8 or 4 ohm taps and I've found that using the 4 ohm taps makes a big positive difference with my 802Ds.

The B&W 800D are set to run max. 8 ohm loaded, although they will go down to anything below that. You should set your amp to 8 ohms since the amp will not have to work as hard especially with class A amps and with less distortion.
      Cheers

        803S with MC 352- 4 Ohm Taps?
        by Dmm53
I have a pair of 803S biwired to a MAC 352. I am using a pair of Catcables. I've read some posts on other forums about B&W speakers sounding "Better" in the 4 ohm taps than the 8 ohm taps on the Mac.

Is there a sonic benefit and is it safe to try?

        N802's: 4 ohms or 8 ohms? - B&W's recommendation
        by McGlentosh
I've read so much info and advice regarding which taps to use when connecting N802, in this and other forums, that my head was spinning, so I e-mailed B&W to get their recommendation, as follows:

"I am powering, via bi-wiring, my N802's with a McIntosh MC352 amp. The

        McIntosh MA6900 driving B&W 703s (issue)

Greetings. This is my first post with HTGuide.

I have a McIntosh MA6900 integrated amplifier. I have it connected to a pair of B&W 703 speakers. I'm using the 8 ohm taps on the amp. The amp also provides 2 and 4 ohm taps and uses something called "Autoformers" to deal...

        Mcintosh MC501 to 802Di's: 8ohm vs 4ohm
        by Highroller
I am wondering about connecting to the 4 ohm taps on the MC501 to my 802Di's. Since the 802Di is rated for 8 ohm can someone tell me what happens when connecting to the 4 ohm taps both from a sound standpoint as well as an electrical standpoint vs the 8 ohm taps? Does more power get send down the...

        load/ohm question from guitar guy

Jon/others, a guitar guy asked me a question, I guess because I seemed pretty knowledgable about loads and impedence. But I still want to make sure I am thinking right on this...

        Here was his question:

I figure since the amp is rated at a 4 or 8 ohm load,...
