Anthem and B&W

Has anyone had a chance to try out the newer Anthem Pre/Pros with B&W speakers (specifically the Statement D2 and AVM50)? I'll probably be in the market for a pre/pro in a few months and was leaning to Rotel 1098 + DVDO scaler, but the AVM50 is hard to ignore at $4600. I'm a little concerned because I hear everything from "these units sound amazing" to "these units sound like crap".

It may be a while before I audition, and I'm curious to know what my fellow B&W owners think.

Well I'm a very happy owner of a D2, with 802d's .

All I can say about the D2 is that yes it's amazing....

Audio: Multiple d/a converters, does great job with any source
sounds clean, neutral, analogue..Better then most cd/dvd players.

Video: The Gennum VXP video scaler upconverts anything up to 1080P.
Regular DVD's look much better, countless custom settings.

Hd-dvd, BD, has worked well for me , via HDMI 1.1 ..
True multi-channel LPCM over Hdmi, Meaning Dolby Digital Plus,
DTS hd, Dolby True HD, works now, no need to wait for Hdmi 1.3

Well I do not have the D2. But I just bought the AVM30. I have B & W 804s and the sound is truely incredible. I am running a used Classe amp but in the future will look at the MCA50 for more power.
