Help Spec's for B&W 801 Series 3 crossovers
Hi I am new to the wonderful world of 801's. I would like to find a copy of the crossover plans/diagram for the Series 3. Any help would be appreciated.

A techie friend and I want to see if we can up grade/restore some of the components. Mine were built in the 90's. I have had them about a month and noticed a little brightness in the very upper most frequencies. I know there is an after market crossover upgrade but they sell for over two grand. OUCH..Comment

FYI: The 801's have been a dream of mine since the mid 80's. I've had them a month and so far they are a DREAM come true.

I've just come across an opportunity to pick up some 801's series II for a very reasonable sum.
While earlier in my life I had more time to dedicate to pursuing my audiophile interests. All I wanted for christmas was a pair of 801's and some levinson monoblocks to go with them.... -
Hi all, this is my first post to this forum. I am the happy owner of B&W 801 Matrix Series 2 speakers which arrived Saturday. Unfortunately, both retaining bolts that hold the heads to the cabinets were bent during shipping and one of the plastic caps is broken. :cry:

I have read on numerous occassions that bypassing the overload protection on the B&w 801 series 80 would enhance the quality of the music. can some one give me instructions on how to do this if you have done it before.08 November 2005, 23:09 Tuesday -
I'm using my 801 Matrix Series 2 and HTM Matrix for the front 3 speakers.
Currently using some old Epicures for the rear. Now that I'm upgrading the whole theatre I was looking for suggestions for the side-surrounds and rears.

As many of you, the Matrix 801 were a dream from the very beginning, when falling into Hi-Fi clutches. Years have passed and finally I could bought a pair of 801 Series II second handed (white ones), while now I also got another pair of 801 (black ones), but in Series III....
