Help setting up HT

Hi Everyone,

I have a pair of 802 series 2s that I have been using for stereo for a few years with a Classe amp and preamp. I don't use it much and when I recently upgraded my HT receiver to a Pioneer SVX81 I began to wonder if I should use the 802s in my home theatre and either sell my Paradigm Studio 20s or move them to the surrounds.

Can you tell me what B & W center channel speaker would work well sonically with the 802s series 2? Also, what B & W surrounds would work well?

I have 803's in my HT and use the DS8S's for surround and they are very good.

I’m not familiar with your Pioneer but would wonder if it has the horse power/ fidelity to do your 802's justice.

If I understand you, you have Matrix 802 Series 2. the matching center is the Matrix HTM and your best bet for surrounds are SCM8 (extremely hard to get) or DS6/7.

You can get the Matrix HTM cheap on Audiogon and I would recommend you keep your Paradigm Studio 20's for rears until you find a pair of rears.

You can always use Matrix 805 for the rears if you cant get SCM8's

You should consider using your classe amps with the pre-outs of the pioneer receiver. You should get better sq.
