I think better than Bi-Amping on a speaker this size for home use is: Bigger,Better Single
Monoblock amps. When Bi-Amping unless you are very versed in crossovers, power needs of four different channels because that's what you are doing in Bi-Amping this is now four speakers you have to match up to four amps. Combinations of SPL's and the such. Forget about using EQ's you talk about tearing your hair out.

I considered the same thing one time for my 800D's. After tons of research and opinions from people in the know, biamping seems to be of little if any improvement at all with passive networks, as with the 802D. Money spent much better on bigger or better amps, source, speakers, ect.
Keep in mind that a 500 watt amp plus another 500 watt amp is still 500 watts. If you want more power, you have to get a bigger amp.- Bottom

Has anyone tried doing A/B comparisons on the 802D's with biamping vs. not biamping?
I was wondering how much better it would sound with two Classe 3200 power amps (200 watts per channel) biamped on my 802D's/HTM2D as opposed to just using one 3200 amp for the three speakers.

by StockinvI'm considering the McIntosh MC501 mono amps with 802D's for my home theatre. I'll listen to two channel stereo at least twice as much as I watch movies. The 501's are 500 watts continuous power. I currently have a two channel, 200 watt amp and a 5 channel 200 watt amp that I could use for the center...-
