Has anybody tried a S.E.T amp with the 802N? I would like to use one for the mid and tweeter and a ss for the bass. Will a S.E.T amp have enough grunt?

No way. Too little power. B&W recommends using the same power for the woofer and midrange/tweeter combo.
You really need to be in the high 90's or 100+ in efficiency if you want to use SET amps. 3 or 4 watts does not go very far with inefficient speakers. Try horns if you like SET amps. They go together very well.- Bottom

by rohit1712I hear that ML 432+B&W 802N is a Great Combination!!! Not Sure.
My 6BSST+802N combination is Ok. But, The Brightness & Hollowness is really unbearable at times. I had to reduce the Treble on my Lexicon for that.
Since auditioning is not possible for me due to my...-
