    Center Channel speaker suggestions- Help!

    Thanks in advance!

Since I have some Rotel gear, I'm always hearing how good B&W speakers are. Could you guys recommend a specific B&W center, or a solid older B&W option?

I'm looking for a transparent center channel speaker to complement my system. My front and rear speakers are from a company called Signet(not that you should know them), known more for their vinyl record cartridges. They came out with a line of speakers in the 90's that got alot of critical acclaim including Stereophile's recommended lists. This speaker's quality and sound approximate the performance of Paradigm's Reference line but the problem is they predate the HT revolution so their is no matching center available. To replace the whole speaker system would kill my budget, prevent me from upgrading other weak links in the chain, and be a waste of some pretty good speakers... SO...I guess I'm gonna try to match as much as possible.

    Thanks!

What are the specs on your current speakers?

    What amplification do you have?

I not familiar at all with that line of speakers, however, over the years I have tried the following center speakers (all in a similar price range):

      Mirage OM-C2
      B&W Matrix HTM
      B&W HTM2

I whole heartedly recommend the HTM2. I runs bout $700 used right now.

The amps will be part of my upgrade but I'm planning on about 150-200 per channel- bi-amped possibly.

        The rest of my system-
        Rotel 1055
        Rega Planet2k
        Panasonic S97
        Integra Amp(150w/ch)
32" tube, to be replaced by a 50" plasma this yr
        Signet 280 fronts, 260 rears. 88-89db sensitivity

        Thx

I just got the HTM3s and its a wonderful center! Gun shots especially are surreal. Any dialog sounds very real. I highly recommend you look at this. With your power these speakers would sound perfect!
